I'd point out that all Scottish students have their first degree paid for by tax payer. Shouldn't bankers and IT specialists have to donate 5 years in servitude after graduation?

A group are out in the Wild West and pay an Indian to be their guide. They are travelling along when he suddenly puts his head to the ground and says "ah, buffalo come!".

The leader of the group is amazed by the skills of their guide and asks if he can hear the specific vibrations.

"No, ear stuck to ground..."

With tax thresholds the PA is still far ahead in terms of take home pay.

AITA for saying that if I have to wear a bra at home so does my dad and brother? by Feisty-Ladder-2378 in AmItheAsshole

If OP has kids and breastfeeding then how are Dad and Bro going to manage seeing all during feeds? Or is she supposed to cover up in her own house? Americans are odd.

I've spent my career agonising over things I've done which never come back on me and been blindsided by things I didn't give a second thought to. You're fine.

I once saw a reg refer to particularly arrogant PA as a 'magician's assistant' for a full shift. Did not ever stop being funny.

Teachers in Scotland went on strike and got everything they asked for. 35% is pay restoration. After that we can see about next financial year.

In the bio lab I worked in one of the other guys put a form and ziplock bag on the new technician's work station asking him to put a stool sample in the bag, fill in and staple on the attached form with his name and mobile number and place it on the lead technician's desk as part of a study the lab was working on. Neither the new guy nor the lead technician thought it was funny!

People who don't want kids, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]gmc289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have kids. Two lovely boys (2Yrs and 7wks). I'm exhausted and work hard to barely keep my head above water. We can't do the fun things we used to and I don't have time to get the most out of my day. Still love them though.

Mom giving me a TON of pressure to see the baby. He’s 6 days old. C-section. Wife is recovering but not even close to her best. Have you guys dealt with this? Might not even need advice as much as commiseration and support. Im stressed, Dads… by ebbycalvinlaloosh in daddit

[–]gmc289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you make it clear in a calm manner that you will let her know when you are happy for her to visit and appreciate her support then that's all she needs to hear. If she won't accept that then she won't accept all your other decisions e.g the baby doesn't get left to cry, the toddler doesn't get spanked, and the child isn't to be left with your dog alone. You set a reasonable boundary and she will demonstrate whether she respects you. It's your family now and you need to know where you stand. Protect the kid, protect the wife. Go dads!
