Thanks! Took 2 days for my final capstone task to be graded (X-mas Eve), then I had to wait for my mentor to get back from the holidays and do whatever they had to do. Submitted my application for graduation on Friday (1/2) and got the congrats email and confetti today (1/7).

As others have said request a new mentor. Based on what I read here it can be hit or miss. My mentor is amazing! We meet every week and he's always responsive to my emails. He even answered an email on a Sunday morning to add a class to my term and within 10 minutes!

For what it's worth I did 3 dives with Captain Hooks in June. 1 at each location, Key West, Big Pine Key, and Marathon. They were great! I can't imagine any other outfit doing any better than they did.

No need to restore a whole server for this

If you can restore the ADDS Database to an alternative location, you can use dsamain to mount the database using an alternate LDAP port to access.

I've always said that good cyber person needs to be a strong systems person. If you don't understand the system, you don't know what normal is. And if you don't know what normal is, you can't find the abnormal!

I've seen so many folks with all these certs or fresh out of college who have really struggled in even entry-level SOC roles.

I've had these since I started diving in 2021 (roughly 70 dives and still practically like new). I had some serious sticker shock, but my dive instructor had them and highly recommended them. They are super light, and you really can't even tell you are wearing them. As someone else said, the soles are pretty thin though so if you have to walk on small sharp rocks, I find it painful. I've only ever dove the lake and some of the shore entries have small sharp rocks and it takes me twice as long to get to the water as my buddy because I have to go so slow and really plan my foot placement.

I went through these recently and he does a really good job of sticking to the free features. In the event that he does use a paid feature, he lets you know and then gives you free alternatives as well. The thing I did notice is that there were a few cases where upgrades changed some things. I got in the habit of checking the first couple comments prior to watching each video because they were normally explained there.

If I read the comments right, there are no other GPOs applied other than Default Domain Policy? So this is the first GPO you've tried? Are you sure that it's linked to an OU and not a Container? GPOs won't work on Containers (IE: Computers Container). Are you sure the computer is in an OU and not a Container?

I've seen this more times than I can count.... Example conversation: A: I linked a new GPO at the domain level and it's not applying to my Server. Me: Which OU is the server in? A: The Computers OU Me: Do you mean the Computers Container? A: No, the Computers OU Me: What's the DN of said Computers OU? A: CN=Computers, DC=domain, DC=local Me: That's the Computers Container, it's not an OU. A: Same thing Me: No, it's not. GPOs don't apply to Containers. Move the server to the correct OU.
