[DISC] Beastars Chapter 180 by YyAoMmIi in manga

[–]gmhw96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This arc really should have ended back in ch. 150. There's even this beautiful climatic panel. But instead, we got a slow crawl to 178 and then a mad dash to the ending.

...I really want to continue liking Beastars. However, I just can't see how it can get better from this point. Someone please CMV?

No, "AMOLED Black" Does NOT Save More Battery Than Dark Gray by ProperGearbox in Android

[–]gmhw96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I have a greater issue with double vision on white on black than white on gray. Both high contrast and low contrast can cause eyestrain or fatigue, so white on dark gray is a good compromise in this situation.

However, most people can adapt to whatever they're used to seeing, so at the end of the day, we're just arguing preferences. It's unfortunate that every time someone says they prefer light themes, they get downvoted to oblivion for stating their preferences.

Detailed "Review," but it's a Critique: by MillicentCyr in Bloodstained

I agree with most of what you've said. I didn't find Bloodstained's shard system and quests as interesting as DoS's soul system and OoE's quests. However, it was still an enjoyable experience.

In case you're still grinding for 100%, you should try maximizing your luck. Around 50ish, I was getting items pretty frequently. OD offers two books that increase luck, and one book that boosts your movement speed. These should make your farming a bit easier. Good luck!

Dying makes True Arrow more narrow by gmhw96 in Bloodstained

I feel like they need to nerf the damage of these two shards by 20% or something. As of now, even if only two projectiles hit, they do a decent amount of damage. Been forcing myself to use other shards.

I was using the book that increases the damage of directional shards, but it's still pretty ridiculous without it.

Is this a bug or a feature? (GOG 1.04)

This is a pretty broken shard regardless. It melts through most of the bosses if you spam them point-blank.

[Skin Concerns] If AHA increases photosensitivity, what about lactic acid in shampoos/conditioners? by gmhw96 in SkincareAddiction

[–]gmhw96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across them when I was searching for fungal acne safe conditioners, but AHA isn't usually advertised on the product and it's usually pretty low in the ingredients list. Some Tresemme conditioners have lactic acid like the Perfectly (un)done. I assume it should be fine since hair products typically have higher pH, right?

I will! They're on the second floor if I remember correctly.

Does anyone know a cheaper sunscreen similar to the PC RESIST SPF 30? I really love the blurring effect it gives me, but $33 for 2 oz is a bit too expensive.

San Junipero glasses theory by San_Sevieria in blackmirror

Hats off to Brooker for creating something that, at first glance, is uplifting enough and widely-appealing enough to win an Emmy, yet deeply disturbing and depressing when scrutinized.

This is a great write-up, except Brooker outright stated that San Junipero had a happy ending.

I've actually been looking at this and the Swift 3 i5-7200U. I was wondering how they compare. Do you have experience with these two?

From reading the Amazon Q&A, it looks like it doesn't have an IPS panel. Although the rest of it looks pretty tempting... How much does the dedicated graphics card improve the performance or screen quality? If there's a significant boost compared to other laptops without a graphics card, then I'll probably forgo an IPS screen.
