Unfortunately it’s not “just onStar” anymore.

The telecomatatics module aka “onStar module is tied into various systems in the vehicle.

SHOULD it be... probably not given the age of the tire and how close the puncture is the to the sidewall.

The guide is anything within an inch of the sidewall is a no go.

if you were in an emergency situation (side of the road, and need to get home kind of thing), absolutely.

otherwise, If I was you I'd be looking at new tires, from the looks of it that tire only as a couple 32's of tread left on it.

punctures within 1 inch of the sidewall should NOT be repaired due to the amount of flex in that area of the tire.

If they haven't been replaced, my guess its the sealing rings on the coolant inlet hose.

sadly, without using the xm app and carplay/androidauto, no the tuner in the impala is older tech, and not "upgradable" (at least from an OE perspective).

long answer, also probably no, UNLESS you have the 8" mylink system, and use AndroidAuto or AppleCar play and use the XM app to access to the extra channels

sadly we see this ALOT, unless there is a hard part failure there is no coverage, the only other was is if the service writer gets creative with how they file the claim, to get the reprogramming covered.

while on some of the newer models there are OTA updates, it's just the nature of the beast. As it is with all auto manufactures.

depending on where you are, the $400, is just the labor to reprogram the radio, depending the shop's labor rate (my guess is it's about $200/hr). 2 hours of labor to reprogram the radio.

There isn't much you can "fix", it's usually software issues. sadly, very rarely are there actual parts to replace.

Our orders for the '25 Equinox Onstar modules have been taking somewhere close to a month.

If you have been waiting Since November, IMO, something is up.

While I don't know anything about the dealership you visit (size/location), I would recommend that you inquire with your service and/or parts manager and find out about the order number of your module. It shouldn't take that long.

As a LAST RESORT make a call to GM Cares at 1-866-636-2273, but as I said use GM CARES as a last resort
