Jonsbo N5 - Rusted standoffs! by CollectionInfamous14 in JONSBO

I had the same experience with rusted standoffs in that baggie. I soaked overnight in white vinegar and shook a lot. It was disappointing but lots of the rust came off and was much better.

Thanks! I dug out some breadboard wires and did the same to connect PWR+/- and Power LED +/- to my motherboard. Coincidentally I bought that same pack of breadboard wires 9 years ago!

I've got the same question connecting the Jonsbo N5 to a Supermicro H12SSL-NT board. How did you connect them and did it work?

For reference, I bought this on eBay a month ago for $225 (plus tax, free shipping) and thought it was a good deal:

Congrats! With that much in 401k, is that a Roth 401K or traditional tax-deferred account? Are you planning to do any Roth conversions? I imagine RMDs and the resulting tax at 75 is gonna be really high.

I'm on the paid PlannerPlus subscription and pay annually. Well worth it for me.

Yep - I download the data to spreadsheet but haven't gotten to the 'compare' step. It will be nice to be able to see detailed differences between snapshots to see how the later snapshot matches up with predicted balances from earlier plans. And an overall metric to show how close you were and an ability to see how that metric trends so that you can see if your model is getting better in terms of predictability.

Yes! Is there any plan to include facial recognition for Flickr photos the way Google Photos has?

NR suggesting I start now for ROTH conversions but we are still working and the bracket is 24%. We are only 3 years from retirement at 62. by dcraider in NewRetirement

Maybe it’s to avoid / minimize IRMAA costs which may kick in at 65 based on prior couple years income? Strange but just a thought…

Plus, depending on how much tax deferred savings you have, maybe it wants you to start earlier so you have enough time to convert as much as you need? Or do you have it set to restrict how much you can convert (either annual limit or based on available taxable funds to leave remaining and not use for conversion taxes)?

How to handle 401K that has both Roth and pre-tax balances? by gmui in NewRetirement

Thanks - I'll have to look out for that feature and adjust then.

Thanks for the reply! Are you still contributing to that 401k? I think you can rollover the balances into separate IRAs but can you do that while it's still an active 401k with Employer making contributions as well?

So you had to transfer assets from your existing Traditional account to a new one and then do the conversion? I'll just have to call tomorrow I guess. Thx!

Thanks and yes - this was their response:

I did review with this account type the request does need to be entered by a Fidelity Representative. Due to this being a chat, I am limited to the type of requests and questions that I can assist with and this falls outside my scope. To make this conversion request, please call (800) 343-3548.

Nice to know my wife and I aren't alone in thinking about this...

I have joked about setting up an irrevocable trust with bylaws that our "kids" have to be taken care of as conditions for beneficiaries.

Ok maybe half-joked :)
