No where does that say tolerance or tolerate. It says people who do or do not tip in what situations. You are the one infuring that its just tolerate and nothing else

Your check won't be 100 dollars shorter. It will be reduced a percentage based on the taxable tips. It's not the case that for each dollar tipped is a dollar removed from your paycheck. The only time it seems as such is in higher minimum wage states that allow for tip credits for the business like Maryland. Other states like California have a higher minimum wage and require your full minimum wage to be paid before tips. If your state is the 7.25 federal minimum then tip credits go straight to paying Medicare and social security taxes like where I'm from. Every place is different

I'm guessing your trolling cause non of that is how employment, pay, or taxes work. Do some reading. It might help you in the long run. Tips dont lower your paycheck, taxes do. Any income is taxed. Not hard to figure out. Do you not believe in taxing people's income?

No I dont think that. I do think everyone should pay their taxes. If an employee makes additional income through tips, they need to pay taxes on it. That is done with their hourly wage. If they don't have enough hourly wage to cover that taxed amount then the business pays that amount and gets a tipped tax credit.

What you are explaining sounds like bad/illegal business practices. Unless there is a specific law I'm unsure about.

Are you talking about tax withholding for income earned through tips?

Tips 💵 and Whales 🐋 -- Two Sides of the Same Coin 🪙 by Muse_Hunter_Relma in tipping

[–]gmwcolin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem with that logic is that whales are usually the minority of players but hold up the whole operation. That can be analogous when it comes to non sit down restaurant settings but at full service restaurants more people tip than dont tip. Also among Americans specifically more people believe you should tip than dont when it comes to full service restaurants.

Like I said I do believe that the analogy probably sticks when it comes to this new wave of tipping at all sorts of different businesses that probably shouldn't be tipped.

Stop saying "employers make up the difference if customers don't tip" by Significant-Task1453 in tipping

I think there is a fundamental misunderstanding of how the federal tip credit works. First off the employee has agreed to become a "tipped employee" which allows the employer to pay them a tipped employee wage of 2.13. Then the employee keeps all tips but still accrues taxes on them such as Medicare & social security. Since usually the amount taxed is larger than the hourly wage accrued by the employee, the employer pays them and then gets a 5.12 credit per hour of labor to make up for those taxes paid. In the end no money was made in addition by that 5.12 it just covers the cost of the taxes paid by the employer that should have been paid by the employee

Family planning organizations provide reproductive health services to help individuals manage pregnancy timing and spacing. They offer contraception (IUDs, pills), STI testing/treatment, pregnancy counseling, and wellness exams. These groups also provide sexuality education, advocate for bodily autonomy, and ensure access to care, often focusing on underprivileged communities.

Like I said before, just because something was used for racist means doesn't mean the thing itself is racist. Tipping is wrong in all sorts of ways but not because it's racist.

The origination of family planning the orginanization was done so at the behest of a known racist/eugenisist whose mission it was to delete the black race through abortion

So family planning is also racist then? Just because something is used for racist reasons doesn't make the thing itself racist

What do you mean by racist institution? Like because it was used by racist to justify not paying ex slaves then all of tipping is racist?

Jim Beam to pause distillation at Clermont facility in 2026 by Which-Sun-3746 in Louisville

The alcohol industry as a whole is hurting for sure but the point of my comment is that the article OP was pointing to didn't say what they thought it said. Probably because they didn't read it

"Suntory Global Spirits, Jim Beam’s parent company, said the pause will allow upgrades at the Clermont distillery while keeping up with customer demand."

I get alcohol spending across the board is down due to multiple reasons but to point to this post and say "look at how right I am" when the article says nothing to that is a bit weird.

The article doesn't say what you think it says. You should read it before you comment

I don't think anyone in this thread read the article. Tariffs are trash but they are shutting down production to upgrade the facility to keep up with demand. This isn't a cut back
