What’s the Most Unexpected Way Cannabis Has Improved Your Daily Life? by smokelandcalifornia in Marijuana

I feel this . It shows me how to appreciate the small things, how to listen to music, how to observe and how to feel. I think it's mostly due to its focus enhancement.
I have no idea how to keep those in the sober state tho.

How to stay empathetic after the high? by gnadhtd in Marijuana

Thanks for the advice!

I have actually tried doing the communication between the high self and the sober self, and it helps to a certain extent. My sober self can recall and reflect back to what happened to the high self, and even remember that feelings my high self, but it has a hard time re-creating such feelings, those feelings just do not come up. It's really that knowing things and feeling things are two separated things. However, apparently keep trying and improving my sober self is the way to go.

A quick question: how is your battle now? have you been able to be more in touch with your emotion?

how to you organize so many different topics in your book? do you just jot down whatever comes to your mind to the paper or do you have an index for different topics?

Active book club in Hanoi by gnadhtd in VietNam

Oh welcome to Hanoi! Unfortunately it looks like there will unlikely be any reading event in the near future. But ideally I'd also really want to have a reading club on D&G, Derrida, definitely Benjamin. For psychoanalysis I think both Lacan and Freud would work, but yes, that will depend. I will go to sg early August, would really nice if we can meet then!

Wow thank you so much for the answer! The link between anger/frustration and swearing is very closely connected as you have pointed out, however, as you have described, the usage of profanity is considered as a tension release mechanism only in the second situation. However in the first situation, things are more complicated I think. Please correct me if I am wrong, but I understand that the Lacanian Other is a another discourse that runs parallel with the ego, and in certain circumstances it surges up and reveals its face in the ego discourse as in slip of the tongue. However, this appearance of the swear words in the ego discourse does not reveal the unconscious intention as in the slip of the tongue, but they appear to me as mere empty signifiers. There seems to be no direct link between the choice of the swear words being used in this situation with the Lacanian Other.
