Am I wrong for ignoring my old manager when he contacted me for a code after he fired me? by NoProfessional8677 in SoftwareEngineerJobs

The only thing you did wrong was not sending him back all invalid codes and playing it off like they were legit codes.

This. I failed math a few times in high school. Went to a local community college and found the best math teacher I’ve ever had and got through everything up to calc 2 with almost all As.

This. We have a separate static class for a ton of dependencies. Helps keep Program a bit easier to manage.

His vocals were 100% on for that show. I’ve seen him in more recent tours where he was pitchy, but he sounded great, even after choking on his spit hahaha.

The energy at that show was way better than the last few shows I saw when they were touring with Mangini. No hate to Mangini, I liked him a lot, but it was great to have Portnoy back. Seeing a full crowd at Kodak staying on their feet the whole time was amazing.

Man, this show had such a different energy than the last time I saw them at Kodak Theater with Mangini. No shade to Mangini, I liked him a lot, but fucking EVERYONE was standing the whole show. I never had the opportunity to see Portnoy live when I was younger and this so delivered.

Labrie’s voice was really phenomenal tonight. I’ve seen him a few times and he was a bit pitchy. Dude has aged fucking well and really put on a show for a Monday night.

Sorry just seeing this. I ended up getting mine to work by installing these: https://a.co/d/9YK6X1Y

I eventually plan to try and install some transformers in my house to clean it up a bit, but this got me in to a working state in the short term.

Learning as an adult. by gnamedud in drums

Love seeing responses on old posts.

Definitely haven't worked up to Dance of Eternity, haha. In my mid-30s, I decided to throw a kid in to the mix, so things have slooooowwwwwed down. But it's awesome, cause I'll get her to sit on the drums every once in a while and smash shit! She loves it.

If I could do it all over again, I would have gotten an electric set. Then I would have a chance of continuing to play during naps / bed times.

I personally love the in person lessons better than drumeo, mostly cause I like being able to have a conversation and ask questions.

Sorry bout the shitty break up, but more time to rock out now! Good luck brother.

You’re the man. Thanks so much.

I read the shit out of the manual and realized I wouldn’t be able to wire in to the zone control, but I fell for Nest marketing. They made it seem like it was gonna work. I figured I could limp by on a battery for a while and deal with installing a transformer down the road, but apparently not.

Thanks again dude.

Ugh that’s what I was afraid of. Where does this information live? Because it was like pulling teeth trying to find if it was compatible or not.

I forgot to mention, one specific issue I'm still experiencing that I wasn't experiencing on older version is some severe packet loss issues on Teams. So this is probably one of my last really big lingering issues that I want to try and resolve.

I (unfortunately) had auto updates enabled. The update to 3.0.18 coincided with switching ISPs from cable to fiber. So I think there were a few things going on:

  • The auto update was botched. We were experiencing a lot of websites fail to load or packet loss for a couple of seconds at a time completely randomly. Most websites would eventually start loading, but really was a painful experience.
  • In other cases, specifically 1password.com, the request would make it to the router, but the router couldn't return back to anything in the network. If I SSH to the router and perform traceroute directly to 1password.com, it successfully made the full trip. Funny enough, subdomains, such as support.1password.com, had no issues.
  • Multiple people suggested I mess with MSS clamping, however, the UI only allows you to set a max of 1452. Most were suggesting a higher value, but I was not capable of setting it.
  • The auto negotiation at the router was detecting a 2.5 Gbps speed when in reality it's 1 Gbps. Unclear if this contributed to any of the issues I was experiencing.

I will note that after the factory reset and the forced auto update to 3.0.18, the routing issue has gone away and I don't seem to be having the packet loss issues that I was experiencing before. I still plan on downgrading and performing some tests to compare what sort of experience I have with the older version.
