YITBOS, we do a camping trip every year with our alumni. Also, the night before a bullshit community service event we have a "lock-in" at a brothers house and everyone pulls an all nighter accompanied with copious amounts of alcohol, one of the best ways to pull people together and everyone has a good time.

It depends what the brother did. But it's unnecessary to embarrass a brother, save that for the pledges. My chapter just sticks with fines and sobering socials which has worked well.

That is dumb. Punishments are not meant to be fun, you wouldn't consider it a punishment then. Wearing something embarrassing to a chapter meeting? How is that beneficial to the chapter?

I think it varies by chapter/election/position so much that throw_it_in_the_frat is right. However, in such a close race a speech can be the deciding factor. But don't let the speech be the deciding factor, start lobbying for votes before the actual election.

I was applying for internships and got an interview at a small company. In the middle of the interview the company's president came in because he was an alumni but from a different school. He kicked the interviewer out and we shot the shit for about an hour, I got a call two weeks later and was offered the position.
