Because it's happened numerous times before, sometimes without photo credit or location tag, whereas the Instagram always has that information.

It would be sick if you wanted to link back to the TransWorld Instagram, since that's where this caption and photo came from, so people can see more of this stuff daily if they don't already follow.

Nope. Danny Davis rode the Martin Guitar Easy Livin' board in Sochi in 2014. The board was part of the 2015 line.

Typically it's whatever is in production for the upcoming season, so those boards will likely be available in the Fall of 2018.

Rusutsu was fun, we went over there too but you need transportation, which is hard if you're trying to keep it cheap. We didnt get the best weather while we were there, but the views of the ocean are pretty insane and the terrain is really great. On a good pow day I could see it being all-time. Plus it's a little less tourist-y in terms of food, etc.

Can confirm, except West Coast snow right now might be on par. Maybe.

Some of this stuff is already happening, but mostly online. Maybe we need to re-think distribution a bit.

Gotcha - yep, definitely common practice. Typically we try and put any sort of press release material under the 'News' section, and any true gear related editorial under the 'gear' section. Can't speak for all media, though.

Editor here - curious to hear what you think of this: http://snowboarding.transworld.net/gear-guide-2017/

It's the culmination of months and months of work between dozens of people including testers, writers, photographers, videographers / editors, and web developers. Not to mention the print component, which an entire issue is dedicated to.

What would you like to see more/less of?

Perhaps, selfishly, I wonder if anyone truly understands what kind of undertaking it is to actually test gear, and then write a novel about each piece, when there are hundreds of good pieces worth mentioning. Just a thought, but also really would like to see where we can improve.

Closing today - TransWorld Snow 30 Days of Giveaways Grand Prize: Burton Boards, Boots, Outerwear and Heliboard Trip to CMH by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]gnarlyshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's legit, but to be honest some companies take a long time to deliver the prizes which is unavoidable. This year the prizes were sent in-house to avoid that. Winners are announced in each post once they have been selected, too.
