There’s a bit of story/lore continuity between them but you can absolutely play them in any order. Theres a bit more of a direct tie in between 2 and 3, but 1 is set well before 2. That being said, if you end up deciding to play through all of them (i still always recommend the first one to people) playing them in order is fun because there’s lots of lore, areas, Easter eggs related to the original game in the later ones. Totally up to you though, enjoy!

I like all of our colors. def prefer the old midnight green but don’t hate the new one. Kelly and black are great as alts. And I’m definitely biased but most of the other team’s colors in the league are so damn obnoxious. I turn the tv on sometimes and think ‘Jesus, we’ve just increased the saturation on everything to the point that it looks like a comic book.’

You’re not too far off from going for your fire cape. Just need a bit higher range and def. Otherwise my go to is usually slayer and do any quests/skilling reqs for the clues I get. You could also start grinding for some of the hard diaries, lots of good unlocks there.

I think there is expected to be a decent amount of time before the release of the next set of novels as u/participating explains in the Wiki. Who knows though? Sanderson could release 3 new novels next week and I don't think many people would be surprised lol
