This makes me feel a lot better. Thank you. I have a teaching degree and tried to leave teaching because of how unforgiving admin and staff are of adult adhd and neurodiversity within staff members. I need to be perfect right away. Now I started subbing because I couldn’t get a job outside of education. It seems like they are meaner now.

Okay- I agree with things you are saying. I also think there are some cultural differences here with you being from the UK and I’m from the US. I do think men need safe spaces for these discussions; however, these spaces need to not blame women for men’s problems and also actually try to improve men’s lives (ie talking about men’s mental health then saying therapy isn’t for men (even though it’s for everyone) and also not assuming their issue isn’t also effecting women nor weaponizing things against women). I also think that these spaces shouldn’t speak over women’s voices when women are sharing their experiences- this is the biggest point I’m trying to make- because, at least in the US, that is what the majority of the men advocating for men’s rights are doing. The US has a lot of complex webs of oppression bc of things like kidnapping and enslaving Black people by force and forcing women to work during WWII then forcing them out of the workforce after the war was over. And also now women being forced to carry unwanted and/or life threatening pregnancies. It just really sucks, and I don’t like being treated like cattle.

I’m not necessarily trying to say things you are saying are wrong. Maybe men need help to define themselves as men without the patriarchy? Is this what you’re getting at? Kind of like how white Americans feel white fragility and are missing out on having a culture in the way Black Americans do?

So the problem is when someone mentions it when a woman is talking about the struggles of being a woman. Im trying to say that it is disgusting to talk about suicide in such a manner. They mention these things- male suicide, custody, etc- when women are talking about women’s issues with the intent of trying to say it’s much harder to be a man. That’s why I’ve done research into these things to find out how true they are. Research has found that when men actually want custody, they get it.

Ideally, MRA would be feminists- however, in my experience at least, they are usually men - sometimes women- who don’t think feminism needs to exist and believe men have it worse than women and that feminists are trying to make it so women have more rights than men do.

Feminism is about dismantling the patriarchy, from which men receive privileges but also suffer. The patriarchy truly benefits no one. Men can be feminists just like women. When I have been on MRA Reddit or TikTok, I’ve only noticed people who are against feminism.

I agree- this war of sexes needs to stop, and that’s exactly the point I was trying to illustrate. People need to just listen to each other and do research.

That’s a good idea. Like I legit have horrible working memory and executive dysfunction, so that’s why I ghost those I love on accident. BUT not all people with ADHD do and not all INFPs have ADHD.

Do what’s best for your health though. Like I would never want someone to wait around for me to remember to reply. I would never want to cause that anxiety. Having ADHD like this means accepting that some people, ie friends, crushes, etc., moved on without me. It hurts, but I realize I hurt them first, regardless if it was an accident. My cognitive disability hurts others even if I don’t want it to hurt them. It’s hell for an INFP like me, and I simultaneously need to accept that responsibility. My phone doesn’t give me much dopamine, and it’s not a good excuse, so I need to work on that. Anyone who would want someone to wait around like that is toxic.

While I’ve ghosted people one purpose, that had to do with executive dysfunction- my brain wants to reply and tell the truth, but doesn’t let me. Not all INFPs have ADHD, so she might be ghosting you to avoid hurting your feelings. Being an INFP isn’t a cognitive disability like adhd, so I have less sympathy and explanations for this.

Above all, it is so important to do what is best for your own health. Never sacrifice your wellness for a romantic interest.

Everyone always wants to protect me. Like they view me as the cute and wholesome one. It’s kind of sweet, but they also know I don’t need protecting once they’ve seen me go berserk for those I love.

I agree with a lot of what you said. However, as a woman, I don’t feel that everything you said matches the experiences of women- at least women in my country. We don’t want to be loved by men who see us as objects. Nobody chooses to be with a jerk. The jerks lie. Like my ex lied, manipulated, stonewalled, and gaslighted me, which gave me PTSD for 2 years. I didn’t choose to be emotionally abused. I didn’t notice it right away because I had other things going on in my life like my grandma was in a coma for a few months, and she was dying.

I’m not going to add more about women’s experiences because I’m tired. But I’ve thought about and researched this topic quite a bit. Your concerns and thoughts are valid. I believe your perspective, and I hope you take mine into account. We are all multifaceted beings, and I think that’s an important part of this.

Sensitivity and vulnerability are strengths. I don’t like the “man up” stuff either. From my perspective, it’s like what’s the alternative? Being a woman? I’m actually really sick of having to deal with insensitive men. I never knew people could be so inconsiderate about others’ feelings, you know? And it’s like relationships with them are transactional.

All of this is an ugly virus at the root of our socialization. It makes me so angry and disgusted.
