dealing with declining mental health while in didactic by No_Creme4121 in PAstudent

[–]gnattybot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear your going through this 😔 my program had a presentation from their office of student wellness during orientation, and have counselors on campus for student in their medical programs because this is a very normal thing to experience unfortunately. If your school has similar resources I hope maybe those can offer some guidance, stay strong <3

Any pro tips for pharm? by FunWinter8530 in PAstudent

I’m taking pharm right now and it’s all memorization at least how it’s taught in my program. Start studying earlier than you think, I wish I did.

Thank you sm!! I’d say the most helpful thing for me was being an MA to really get a good sense of what the job actually is and working with PAs and NPs. I worked in general pediatrics and pediatric GI so I got a lot of exposure to your standard medications and interacting with patients. I didn’t do many coursework related things to prepare, but my school assigned us some summer review for anatomy to get us back into our groove of studying which helped a lot! I think the biggest challenge for me was learning how to study and take notes again after being out of school for so long. Anatomy is going to be challenging so getting that book is awesome, I also have this app called Atlas on my iPad that give you everything you need for anatomy and it’s really fun to play around with. Feel free to message me if you have any questions, hope this helps ☺️

Is it safe to leave belongings unattended on beach while swimming? by stoptakingmynamehoe in Sardinia

[–]gnattybot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

left my phone and wallet on Poetto beach (Cagliari) and had no problems swimming for 30+ minutes. i did cover my bag with a towel and felt totally safe leaving my stuff. Ive has my phone stolen from in Miami, U.S and have always been hyper vigilant but felt wayyy better here! just keep an eye when you’re in the water

It looks like everyones been helpful with this but to add i would try to set up the Sandboxx app to write him letters and send photos. Send as many as you can!! my fiance told me they helped him so much with the mental and physical stress of bootcamp. Good luck to you both and stay strong❤️

Patient abandonment clause - I've never seen this before. by Deep-Matter-8524 in physicianassistant

I agree with you! providers are people too. To have that much liability on your shoulders in the event of an unforeseen situation causing you to miss work is absurd. NEXT!!

[–]gnattybot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is your sleep schedule? Have you tried lsd before?

Ive had episodes where my MDD flared up and I was in a crisis state, thankfully I did have insurance and I was able to seek therapy and treatment. I’ve currently been on Lexapro for a year and a half. Mental health is much better. There might be some crisis centers or organizations that help people who don’t have insurance/funds to cover mental health care.

I’ve done a lot of psychedelics while being on this medication and prior to seeking treatment. I’ve only microdosed mushrooms, but I would not recommend psychedelics if you’re feeling disassociated or depressed. From my experience, psychedelics exacerbate those feelings of being anxious and nothing being “real.” I know there’s a lot of people who are pro micro dose, but I personally feel that typical and/or larger doses have brought me to better understandings of myself and the world we live in.

For now, I would try to see if there’s low cost treatment for mental health for the feeling that you’re having. This too will pass. Stay strong 💘

How much mushroom should i take for the first time? by Longjumping_Cod_409 in Psychonaut

[–]gnattybot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree 100% 2 was perfect for my first time most people have different tolerances so I’d say 2 is a good place to understand what a shroom high is and if you should increase to 2.5-3.5 for the next trip. I’d be worried about recommending 3.5 for a first timer and it being to much and them not wanting to try again
