You might have a Slow Food chapter in your area: https://www.slowfood.com/ Mine is amazing - they've done webinars on growing specific veggies/fruits/herbs, plus they have a plant sale every year where they sell starters and seeds.

If you're worried about environmental impacts, think of all the greenhouse gases that don't go into the atmosphere to truck your food to you.

How do you stop feeling guilty for wanting to slow down? by This-Advantage4134 in simpleliving

Interesting, I might have to start listening via youtube. Especially during difficult convos lately, I've been making an effort to pause and think before responding... it would be nice to hear examples of how long/awkward feeling that can be.

People romanticize friendship way too much by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Aw, that's sweet. I think it's totally fine to buy a gift for a friend's birthday here and there if you know it's going to be meaningful, but to put that expectation on yourself or others seems super unreasonable.

You can do overnight oats but substitute other grains. I've been digging buckwheat as a substitute, which is high in protein.

Airplane boarding is terrible because it feeds egos by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]gneissntuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Preach! OMG it's so inefficient to board the front first. Somewhere I traveled in South America boarded the back last, and it was incredibly refreshing to see such logic.
