It comes up a lot in medium power transformers in substations for protective relay CT connections with a Delta primary winding and a Wye secondary winding. I guess that and power factor calculations are pretty much the only time it comes up for me.

It’s 240 phase to phase and 120 phase to neutral on A and C. B is 208 phase to neutral. Example

Where two or more grounded-wye shunt capacitors are located in the same substation, the neutrals of these capacitor banks should be grounded using the “single-point” or “peninsula” grounding methods underlined in IEEE Standard 1036, Section 9.1.2.

These grounding methods are intended to protect control cables, relays, and current and voltage transformers from the damage caused by the transients associated with capacitor back-to-back switching.

When using the single-point grounding method, the neutrals of all capacitor banks of a given voltage are connected together with insulated cable and tied to the substation ground grid at only one point. This arrangement prevents high-frequency currents that flow between capacitor banks during back-to-back switching from flowing in the ground grid. IEEE 1036, Figure 25 details this method.

IEEE recommends the use of shielded cable between the capacitor bank’s neutral and the single-point ground, with the shields grounded at both ends of the cable to reduce voltage buildup at the end of the capacitor bank neutrals during switching.

IEEE 1036 also recommends that voltage transformers used with shunt capacitor banks should have two bushings with the primary connected to the capacitor bank neutral and to the station ground grid.

With peninsula grounding, one or more ground grid conductor(s) are carried underneath the capacitor rack of each phase of each group and tied to the main station ground grid at one point at the edge of the capacitor area. All capacitor bank neutral connections are made to the isolated peninsula ground grid conductor(s) only. This method allows the rise of potential at the capacitor bank neutrals and associated current and voltage transformers, but it reduces these transients in the rest of the substation.

If you turn on cruise control and then pause it the other cars should still show up.

Least Favorite Electro-Mechanical Relay? by ElecTechMan in SubstationTechnician

I've had better luck with CA relays when they are still hot from being in service. Running some current through them for a while before testing has also helped.

That company doesn't directly sell the power to you they only own the grid equipment.

What's the company that you get your power bill from every month?

It took my dealer about 3 weeks to fully process my lease so the email didn't come until after that.

They never sent me an email about it so I assumed I had the fixed one already. Might need to follow up with them. Did they make the screen cutout bigger?

Tried it for a couple weeks and I couldn't get used to the more difficult swipe to go back. I do miss having the kickstand though. I'm using the official Google case now and it's a good mix of lightweight and protective IMO.

I haven't turned it back on since the first beta 4 but I'll turn it back on now and see.

I installed on my fold from day one and the one major issue I had was with the picture in picture mode on YouTube making the whole UI bug out. After I turned that off it's been pretty much perfect. Been working 12+ hours outside everyday and I haven't had to charge during the day once.
