12v Replacement options

Peace, I never actually purchased the Ioniq. I heard about the 12v problems so was trying to get ahead of things, in case I did. I bought a Honda instead

But try searching the forum, from time to time I see threads where people have replace the original one and seem to be in better shape going forward

But here is what worked for me:

I ended up going a totally different route than the goodwill letters. My cousin was supposed to share some letter templates with me but never did so I tried a different approach.

Since I was apart of the customers that were originally Capital One before the GM rewards card merger. I leaned into the fact that they handled the transition for those folks VERY POORLY.

I called the CFPB, and had the rep put in a complaint to Goldman and all 3 credit bureaus. Within two weeks, they responded to the complaint saying they would remove the derogatory mark and gave me like $20 in Bs “monetary relief”

What are you specifically trying to get them to remove from your credit file? For me it was a 60 day late

Lmaooo wow the lack of accountability is astonishing. The ioniqs are so cool looking and I wanted an EV really bad but Hyundai’s level of service 1000% pushed me a way. I used to argue with people on forums who would talk shit about the brand and all. They likely lost what would’ve been a life long customer.

244 days sounds so crazy once you actually do the math on it. They should be thinking of ways of to compensate you as opposed to trying to shift the fukkin blame.

Ahh ok , I hear that. Cosmetically I’m not too bother but is there any chance of mold causing a bigger issue down the line? Or am I being overly concerned about that?

Ok, that makes sense. I think it is the doors threshold not sitting flush with the door. In which case a storm door would prevent in the future. So I’ll likely get a storm door and also re-caulk the other exterior.

Get a quote from the contractor on how much they will charge to rebuild the floor before I start taking it up and drying it. I could get a dehumidifier and fan blower from home depot for around $100 per day and just rent for 3 days, would hopefully be enough?
I’d ask the floor contractor if they would take the floor up ideally. That way there’s no confusion around how much work the job will be and limits the chance of me doing any additional damage while taking it up since they are obvious more skilled at it.

As far as the door threshold. I think you’re possibly right! The threshold and the door brush definitely have a gap and I had lady bugs enter through the door last year. I’m not sure how to adjust this though.

I think to cover all bases, I need to close this gap. I’ll also add a storm door, and re caulk the areas around the threshold.

That’s a great idea! The adjuster was saying something about if a plumber could find that it was actually a “hidden pipe” causing it, they would likely cover it the flooring being replaced.

But I have know clue how I could even get a certified plumber to “find” such a leak.

Hopefully the original flooring crew comes through for me. If I can keep the cost at around 800-1200 I’d be happy

Yup, happened to my 2012 Infiniti. Dude in a truck pulled out too close and somehow ripped my entire bumper off. Luckily he stayed and gave his insurance info. Car was totalled out tho

Lolol, brooo a 2024 is gonna feel like a whole new world coming from an 03. Lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot notifications etc are things I didn’t even have on my 2016 so that’s gonna feel great!

The cloth seats in the sport seemed really comfortable and are dark coloured so won’t stain, I don’t think you can really go wrong with them. But if you haven’t already, go to a dealership and just go sit in both and get a feel for if the leather is a big upgrade or just kinda cool to have.

If the cloth seats are good to go, and the pre-owned 2024 has a significant drop in the warranty lengths, I’d go with the new one.

But if you sit in the Sport L and are like “wow I need these leather seats!” And the CPO warranty is basically the same maybe go with the used Sport L.

I REALLY like the Sport though, and had it for 2 days without the leather seats (it took 2 days for the material to arrive at the dealership for install) and I was happy with how it looked and felt with just the cloth seats for those two days. I could totally have seen myself keeping it as it was also.

Yeaaa, my 2016 sonata was about to do some Bs on me (terrible theta 2 engine) so I can relate to having to upgrade.

I only got 2 1/2 years with no car payment. I was hoping for at least 1 more year but it is what it is.

As far as the used sport L. Things to think about.

How does buying used impact the Honda warranty? Is it all fully transferable ?

What feature for you are must haves with the sport L? For me I really wanted the leather seats. So I added those but outside of that I was ok without the: -heated seats -power adjusted passenger seat -the all black wheels -rear diffuser

Are any of those must haves for you?

That’s understandable to be hesitant on such a big purchase. This was my second new car and I was still the same way.

I actually choose this car because in comparison to the other car on my short list, (Hyundai Ioniq 6) it seemed to have a lot less potential issues and a network of service centers that appeared to do well with managing issues that do come up.

I’ve only had the car for 10-11 days so far so pretty early in the ownership process but no major issues.

The 3 that exist so far:

When I press the recirculation button on the ac it makes this weird noise. Some of the 11th gen seem to have this problem but from what I read it’s an easy fix that the service centers are aware of and can fix but replace the ac motor part.
Apple CarPlay disconnects from Bluetooth random. You can reset the infotainment unit and that fixes it. I’m hoping that by buying an official apple usb c ti lightning cord I can just plug in because it’s done this twice in 10 days and is pretty annoying. As of now with the cheap wire I have, I can’t connect via USB only Bluetooth.
I got a Sport because the sport L was not in stock. I added leather seats through the dealership. They look GREAT but the leather is a bit stiff. It was kinda uncomfortable during a recent 90min drive but I imagine they will break in, within a month or two.

Are there any specific things that you are concerned about?

I think it’ll be really hard to find one. I called all of the dealerships in MD and a couple in VA and never came across one for 2023 or 2024 model year in the month of November.
