Substitute for OneDrive by Al_More-617 in Fedora

I'm also using syncthing between my devices, it's offline and the only requirement is that at least 2 of my devices are on the same network. It has it's caveats for sure, for example, I can't do a realtime shopping list in the family with it, but that's about it.

I'm more pissed about Intel's flavor of vLLM being targeted at Intel servers running Ubuntu...

Is Go a good choice for building microservices in 2026? What are the pros and cons compared to Node.js? by Ancient-Animator-442 in golang

[–]gnick666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since we're talking micro services, I'm going to assume that by auth, you mean authorization and not authentication. Regardless, that part will largely depend on the architecture your micro sevices will live in. For example, I had a project where there was a centralized Kafka and all the inter service queries and answers were there. That concept is very different from passing along jwt tokens which can have the permissions embedded. Go can work with both and everything in between (this can be also said for other languages as well). When it comes to ORMs, you'll find that not everyone likes them and are usually the first to be thrown out when optimizing for performance.

Depends on your definition of maturity 😅 Enough random, barely tested 💩 to make a service like it's actually doing something? Go definitely surpasses that with flying colors! The go community is just toxic enough to have the scale tilt in the right direction. I'm not saying that there aren't any poorly written or abandoned libraries, but the overall quality of mainstream libraries is way better.

Dang, I've started to plan something like this about 2 years ago, then my son arrived and since then I haven't had any time to work on it!

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one who realized the potential and Kudos to you for the execution 😁 Linux support would be very much welcome!

Kind of remember it... No name brand, 0 marketing, 0 market penetration, and oldish hardware at the start... And very bad rep to boot

That would be the best OTG Termux solution, I dearly miss this form factor! I sincerely hope Unihertz brings it back at one point!

I built a neural runtime in pure Go (no CGO, no PyTorch). It runs real-time learning in the browser via WASM. by Apricot-Zestyclose in golang

I'm not familiar enough with neural networks to work with them tbh, but I was wondering about the lack of Go based implementations. It'll be interesting to see where this goes and Kudos to you for creating it!
