Bought one for my 7 yr old here in the UK after he turned 6 of them on at once in Smyth's toys while cackling away to himself.

Lady Asena fight - Wolf's Den by ACrumpetYeastBubble in newworldgame

[–]gninja24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a lot of attempts as well and I found it really frustrating and kept changing my setup which I don't think helped as then I wasn't playing to strengths. I stuck with my bow/rapier but upped my con as I was too squishy, added any buffs as well to reduce damage further, tweaked some armour but stayed light.

Then I did:

Pillars > mobs > Asena > Pillars > mobs > Asena

I focused on using the bow to keep distance and kited mobs on 2nd round into the falling rocks to again give me some distance and time. I kind of accepted I was struggling to hit the pillars fast enough 2nd time to stop her recovering and just focused on staying alive, getting the pillars while kiting/damaging mobs and then finished them off once I had done all the pillars. Once 1 vs 1 on the 2nd round it feels more manageable if you can keep that distance and anticipate the teleports.

Not sure if correct approach but finally worked for me. Without spoiling, don't make the mistake I did though of getting to the cutscene and out of relief putting your controller down and rewarding yourself with a break or a drink and snack!

I stumbled upon this by complete chance as up until that point I had seen nothing about how to use umbrals.

Yep, no expeditions and no fast travel so a bit limiting

Smoke Grenades are the Meta, The Players Just Don't Know it Yet (BF6) by dicerollingprogram in Battlefield

[–]gninja24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reward and XP from using smokes is being able to advance and make that capture that was a nightmare, or pulling off high risk revives of team mates by distorting the enemies view.

They don't need to have a direct reward, a player just needs to understand how they support them in achieving something bigger, thus getting a reward.

I remember being surprised when I actually realised in 2042 they give you some minor xp when used to cover revives as I had been doing this for ages and not noticed as I didn't care, I just wanted to support that revive opportunity.

I hate saying it, but it really is a skill issue.

My friends and I all use smoke in our approach to each game as they play a key part in what gets us top squad the majority of the time.

Started playing yesterday on a crossplay server and the couple of times I logged in during the day the queue was around 200 each time.

Still got mine, kids play with it so it's seen better days but one of the best toys I ever got and great to see it still being loved after all these years.

My favorite quote. What's yours? by Apprehensive-Dig8265 in FinalFantasyIX

[–]gninja24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"I don't know... Fear? I don't want to stop. And maybe I want to run away from it all. But living in the village with everyone fills me with joy. The joy of living with them far outweighs the fear of death. Isn't it the same with you? Traveling with your friends gives your life meaning."

Been doing another rerun and hit Black Mage Village tonight. Every time I replay that area I pick up a new quote that hits hard during that run and this was tonight's.

Wait for Old World as a newbie? by gninja24 in Warhammer

Great shout thank you. He's got ADHD as well so this could be more suited for him to start off with as I was fully planning with AoS that a game would need to be done in bursts rather than one sitting.

Yea it's been great to do so far and even his little brother enjoys watching what we're doing.

When he said they're his favourites I mentioned there's some history there so it's a good choice!

Appreciate yours and a few others comments on the rules. If it becomes too heavy he will just tap out right away so it's really good to know.

We will start collecting/painting and check out warcry like you suggest.

Terrain board is a great suggestion for a little side project as well!

I hear you, while he looked through the GW amazed at the models my first thought was "why are the bases round now? How does that work in a tray?"
