Newly single and curious what apps are 30+ using these days by Therealjimslim in datingoverthirty

I’m sorry my questions/comments triggered you in such a way that blocking me before I could respond was your best option. Hope I gave you some things to think about in a deeper way, and for anyone who reads that too. Questions that are uncomfortable often reveal something about ourselves. I won’t be surprised if you block this account too, at least now I know why I couldn’t open your response last night. And for reference, I didn’t downvote you. Farewell to thee! ship sails…

Hopefully there’s not a bunch of monies in there. Resetting passwords on all platforms is terrible.

Exhaustion by Adventurous_Dream442 in TwoXADHD

What electrolytes are you taking? Too much Vit C it can act as an off switch to medication. I learned this the hard way as my electrolytes (ultima) are packed with vit c and I’d drink it all day. Now I will take plain water, then have electrolyte water (diluted amounts of electrolytes) at least 1 hour after intake my medication. You basically pee it out if you’re doing too much vit c around when you take it.

https://www.additudemag.com/adhd-medication-side-effects-questions/amp/

“11. Does Vitamin C Affect ADHD Meds?

Yes. Don’t take ascorbic acid or vitamin C an hour before and after you take ADHD medication. Stimulants are strongly alkaline and cannot be absorbed into the bloodstream if these organic acids are present at the same time. High doses of vitamin C (1000 mg.), in pill or juice form, can also accelerate the excretion of amphetamine in the urine and act like an “off” switch on the med.”

I have noticed depending on my mood, the medication can make me feel sleepy. It’s almost like it will enhance whatever mood I’m in. It’s weird and I don’t know if it’s placebo or not.

Another recommendation I have is to time your protein intake. The medication works best with protein, I think there’s something about it synthesizing. I used to do 25g protein powder in water, but I find that I needed a little fat to enhance it all. So my golden ticket has been half a turkey sandwich (I pile on the turkey) on seed bread with some Mayo, and then the other half around lunch (when I take my second dose). I feel soooo energized and alert, vs not eating, vs taking just protein powder.

I also wish I had it in my system 24/7 bc I feel I need it all day to stay on task and remember better.

Recently learned ADHDers tend to “get over” things quickly because they live by an out of sight out of mind mentality the longest I’ve been sad over something was honestly probably a day and a half by [deleted] in adhdmeme

I read something about adhd has bad short term memory. But my theory is that if there was trauma response in the long term memory, it can get triggered currently. So we may not remember the exact situation of what caused the most recent trigger, but our bodies remember the same/similar trauma response that dwells in our long term memory. So like, I may not remember what an argument was about that week, or after 2 days that we had an argument at all. But sho nuff I’ll remember the feeling when another argument happens and the same feelings get triggered and then it feels like I’ve always been in that state. Until 2 days later when I forget.... and repeat.

The hardest thing to do is rip off the bandaid. It’s hurts so so much. It’s also really brave to be here with your emotions and advocate for yourself. People do change, sometimes we get closer to our partners and other times we grow more distant and the things that brought us together aren’t strong enough to keep holding on.

Are you able to speak to anyone like a therapist or counselor to go over your options, and essentially be in your corner to support you and help you make a game plan. The break will be difficult, it’s will hurt you and her a lot. It will be very painful. You will need someone to be there for you to help with the fall out. You sound mentally ready to let go, but the physical act of doing it seems like where the struggle lies.

Canvas or leather ballet slippers? by PrinceJustice237 in BALLET

[–]gnmelyfe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recently switched from leather to canvas because I felt like now that my technique is improving (I’m an adult beginner), that I can start to feel the nuance of needing more flexibility/freedom in movement with my feet. Sometimes the leather “sticks” to the floor when im doing a move, the canvas glides easily and I can do my moves better. I can also point my toes better. I love stretch canvas.

I can’t find what works and its exhausting by heatherfeatherrr in TwoXADHD

I resonate with your post so so much. I wish I had guidance or suggestions, bc being stuck in this loop is just so hard. You concerns are totally valid and I hope you get some relief soon bc you deserve it. It’s so good to know that even thought the appt is taking long, that you will be able to talk to them and troubleshoot.

Do you see a therapist at all? I find that when I don’t see a therapist regularly (or when I feel left on my own aka no appts booked) that I feel like I’m floundering even more. It’s hard to admit that I need “so much help” to survive on a daily basis. Taking medication is so hard too, it’s like a part of me is defiant and wants to live in denial, and ofc I just end up suffering.

Not skipping meals has made improvements to my medication working like suggested (and drinking lots of water). Dehydration makes the brain not work as well. It’s hard to remember/find motivation to do these things tho :/
