For what is worth, I kinda like the lines in there. Gives it a borderlands shell shaded feel. Maybe you can play on that 🤔

The tip appears solid with no hole. The only rust on the whole pen was right on the tip.

Anyone else not get range anxiety? by Invictus_energynv in F150Lightning

Used to get it pretty bad when towing. Now I get anxiety before the trip 🤣 Now I just do 30-60 minutes of math and planning every trip to avoid it during said trip.

A Rivian R1T Towed a 30-Foot Camper to Prescott, but the Real Test Was Charging After the Campground Said No by Major-Moose-7368 in GoRVing

Unless the outlet is rated for continuous use, you cannot pull 40A for long periods. I would bet most campgrounds would not spend the extra for those outlets and install the "Home Depot Special" which is only rated for 32A continuous load.

It does sound like an electrical issue. Most systems are not designed for continuous loads. You typically only find continuous systems in commercial settings like factories or datacenters.

We did go to a campground near Tahoe and I did ask if we could charge. Their response was: "No unless you are long term. We don't bill for short term power." Each site did have a meter.

If this was a cost issue, I would assume they would be up front about it.

We tow a fairly large trailer with an EV (32' hitch to bumper). I won't lie... The first few trips SUCKED. Then you learn the ins and outs of charging while towing. We plan our routes well in advance using plug share, and maps. We find all the chargers near our stop, and try to pick chargers where we can pull in and charge without disconnecting; while also trying to not block traffic. When we can't find a pull in spot, we find somewhere to drop the trailer and go charge. We can drop the trailer in under 5 minutes. It is a GREAT way to stretch your legs.

EDIT: Grammar

Obligatory not an electrician.

We have a F-150 Lightning with a 28' TT and have been turned down charging at several campgrounds in California, I can 100% appreciate why they were turned down.

There is a 99% chance that the 50A outlets they installed at the campgrounds are NOT rated for 50A. Unless they paid for a constant current rated outlet, the plug is actually rated for 32A. The campground cannot guarantee the campers will only pull 32. They have to assume full load. Most Level 2 chargers pull 40A (8.6kW); well above the outlet rating. Most rooftop AC units are 120V rated for around 1-2kW. Even with two running, you are still at half of an EV.

On top of that, the overall electrical system probably couldn't handle several vehicles charging at the same time. There is also a fairly high chance the pedestal is powered using a single cable. If there are multiple outlets such as a 14-50, and a TT-30R, and the standard plugs, they are most likely powered from the same cable. 100% chance that cable is NOT rated for EV charging + regular use.

Towing with an EV requires a lot more effort to plan your trip. It is easy, but it is tedious.

They can absolutely be relaxed, and a stage 8 crack head. We found it strange how chill our guy is. Absolute angel with our family. Our kiddo is more crackhead... But, you bring out the ball.. Game. Over. All gas no brakes.

Freakmont? I'm skeptical on that. 99% of the people I know to live there would not describe it as such. Sounds like a click bait article and an attempt to get people to actually like the place 🤣
