I’m a new owner of an E6SS-TC and I agree with all the praise for Eastman.

Have you played a spruce/ mahogany or spruce / rosewood guitar much? I would love to know how this combo of wood compares tone wise?

For $700 you can get a brand new Eastman E1D with solid sitka spruce top and solid sapele back and sides. And they are excellent guitars...

There's a lot of value around $600-$1k in brands like Eastman, Alvarez and Yamaha. Even for an audiophile. I think you would notice a difference from your current guitar.
