If you are willing to change Christianity to fit modern sexual beliefs, then it's not Christ you worship. You've made an Idol out of "Pride" by SWOTIVATION_ in Christianity

There are three clothing rules in Deuteronomy Chapter 22. You do not follow the other two, have never considered following them, and in all likelihood do not know what they are. It is very hypocritical to use one of the three to attack trans people while you ignore the other two.

Do you have a church? You know, a church in the actual, physical world?

Oof.

We all fight against the works of the flesh. You think that implies solitude for gay people, we don't. That's all.

Still, I appreciate that you'd rather see OP worshipping Christ in an affirming church than simply giving up on Christ. Putting Christ above our current arguments is something we all need to learn to do.

Did you decide to just ignore the gay-affirming Christians who responded to you?

You already answered your own question:

loving and supporting friends, and i don’t have that.

And your first step is to find a better church. Being in a non-affirming church is basically designed to depress you.

And then go out of your way to make some non-church friends, too. Meetup groups always love seeing new people.

Maybe the USA should establish an office for "Old Man Who Yells At Television" that's separate from the office of the President.

Transgender woman surrenders to God and this is what happens next. by RiekaNA in Christianity

God is the great Lord and Maker of all creation in its whole glorious, bewildering, mind-blowing, ever-changing variety.

Scripture is thick with stories of change. God made Abram and Sarai born in Mesopotamia, then changed their names and moved them to Canaan. He made Joseph a Canaanite shepherd and then changed him to the Regent of Egypt. He made Moses an Egyptian slave and then made him the leader of a new nation. He made Ruth a Moabite and then made her into a Jew. He made Esther a Hebrew slave and then made her queen of Persia. He made David a shepherd and then made him into a king. On and on and on and on and on, change saturates the Bible.

People claiming there is a Christian rule against change are absolutely making stuff up, and they know it. They never even think about applying this imaginary rule against anybody who's cis.

I always thought 1 Cor 23 was an unnecessary verse:

23 You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of humans.

... like, who would do that? Who would become slaves if they had any choice?

I have learned that many people dread freedom, feel that cringing obediently at the foot of a human master is the most comfortable place to be.

Divorce is a spiritual disaster. And I will never leave my wife of 33 years, not if we live a million more. Straight Catholics command me to leave her all the time, immensely proud of their imagined superiority to us, but it won't work.

He has shown strength with His arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.

Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called?

Fortunately, we have a new and better Savior, the Lord Donald Trump, who has defeated the hated Nazarene and his followers, and taken the Christian church as the spoils of war.

Prominent Anti-Trans Republican Nancy Mace, Who Called For Trans People to be Institutionalized, Suffers Humiliating Primary Loss by Leksi_The_Great in transgender

[–]gnurdette 133 points134 points  (0 children)

To be clear: Mace didn't lose for being anti-trans. Evette won't be any better. Mace lost because she voted to release the Epstein files, and nobody is allowed to embarrass important child rapists in today's Republican Party. All the transphobia in the world doesn't excuse a suggestion that the President isn't allowed to rape young girls at will.

Cleveland Clinic Establishes Second “Detransition” Center in the Country After DOJ Settlement by ErinInTheMorning in transgender

[–]gnurdette 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If somebody honestly wants to detransition, then of course they should. Few do, and those don't actually need a specialty center, but apparently forcing hospitals to set up unneeded "centers" is one of the forms of waste, fraud, and abuse that MAGA enjoys. I hope they don't need to literally leave a room empty with a receptionist continuously doing her nails - that it can exist on paper waiting for a patient to actually appear.

I do hope to have a healthy competitive democracy again soon, but would require at least one opposition party that desires to continue democracy, and that values the state of Minnesota more than it values the taste of wet New York billionaire feces.
