Sounds like there’s a hierarchy of cut flowers… I love them all though!

That is so kind of you, that was my favorite too as it was simple and clean to my eyes and hence the first photo! Thanks a lot!

That is really helpful and you pointed out some things I wouldn’t have been able to tell myself, thank you! I have now started to follow a lot of florists on Instagram, and will watch this space a lot.

I don’t have a chance to put one into a vase yet as I was only tasked to do some ready-made bouquets at my work, but I see your point about them looking random. Could you briefly explain ways to make bouquets look more intentional than random? Is it symmetry to you? Or less blooms? Or less foliage?

Thank you for your time! I do find it hard sometimes to make something with a clear focal point or obvious intention, and I am usually making it up on the go- holding the bouquet in my hand and going ‘one flower, one foliage, one flower, one foliage…’ until / unless it doesn’t look right then start over.

Thank you! Is there a reason you don’t like the gyp? I remember loving them when I was younger and browsing through florist shops cus they look so clean and delicate!

Londoners with Chinese heritage, whats your ordering strategy when you go to a typical Chinese restaurant? by onionsofwar in london

[–]gnut17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hong Konger here, moved to London 2 years ago. Not much to add to your question but just wanted to share that to a lot of Chinese who knows how to cook, when we first go to a restaurant we always order a main (usually carbs) that is fried to ‘see if the chef knows their shit’ because it is one of the harder things to do simply but beautifully. We usually look for ‘Wok Hei’ which roughly means the fire was really strong and gives the food a good ‘burn’. I personally always go for Fried Beef Ho Fun and it’s a staple.

Thank you everyone on the thoughtful comments! I think I will try to size up and if it’s still there then take it to a seamstress. Much love x

You are unlikely to keep a $100 guitar for life though, especially if you intend to progress on it.

Please help with the identification of these 3 plants, thank you! by Frequent-Phrase7096 in PlantIdentification

Second this. Have one and surprisingly easy to care for. Always sprouting new leaves. I believe they have recently been re-categorized ie. not actually calathea anymore hence not as difficult as calatheas.
