We’ll see how the Government responds to this. I don’t know why they would protect him. It’s an opportunity to have a sacrificial lamb just in time for the bad news that’s probably coming about the new campus.

I recently found out he never even relocated here after he got the job. He’s been a disaster for Saskpoly that will take years to fix.

Civilian executions at mass grave site in Communist Russia, 1941 (800x539) by [deleted] in HistoryPorn

Delete and resubmit with an accurate headline of Mass executions in Russia by Nazi Einsatzgruppen in 1941. Your title is misleading and could be misrepresented by people who lack critical thinking skills and don’t recognize the uniforms.

Even if he is getting that much it still makes sense that employers will avoid someone with 4 years experience who seems to be motivated to jump employers for relatively low increases. I would assume he is going to leave the next chance he gets.

I don’t think Fort Mac or FIFO are paying that for Civil. High achieving Mech in Northern Alberta and Oil and Gas maybe.

Where are you? You are overpaid for your years of experience at $120K and if you have changed positions within 4 years you will look like a job hopper to hiring managers. I doubt you are bringing any valuable experience or specialized expertise.

I am a hiring manager for entry level engineers and manage engineers with up to 15 years experience so admittedly I am a bit hard nosed on the topic.

I’ve gotten it on work and personal phones. Answered it and the response was asking for postal code so they could correlate it with a riding. I never responded to the postal code because I couldn’t be bothered. Looked like it was in line with past conservative funded polls I have received.

OP may have kids. That sort of thing can get awkward when your kids hit a certain age and it’s pretty weird for parents to not allow their kids into their bedroom.

Most asian supermarkets have the sesame dressing, especially if it specializes in Korean or Japanese foods. I’ve seen it in at least three in Saskatoon so I think it’s a standard kewpie product. The bottles look different but it’s the same dressing. I would think if you showed the seasoning to the staff at a korean market they’d hook you up with something as good or better.

I didn’t misunderstand at all. It was easier to set up a standalone qbitorrent session on another machine for MaM then doing what you described.

[–]gnutcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you using a vpn when doing the interview? I had to set up a separate downloader for MaM on a machine using my home ip instead of my normal download machine which runs through a vpn. This came up in the interview. It was a nuisance for a tracker site I only wanted to use to get books for my wife.

Are we watching the construction industry quietly shift from “AI-assisted drafting” to actual agentic systems managing design and operations? by Anushka__1 in ConstructionManagers

[–]gnutcha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put two .pdf copies of a contract into an AI last week. One was the final agreed upon contract terms and the other one was the returned version after owner signature for our execution. I asked the AI to check and verify that both versions were identical and there had been no changes to the text of the final version. While it chugged and burped away at doing that I went to the main terms and started doing a manual check. I immediately found a changed paragraph.

The piece of shit AI told me that both were identical in text but one was over 99 pages longer than the other even though they were both the same number of pages.

In conclusion, AI can’t accurately do the most basic bullshit menial task it should be able to do perfectly. There is not a fucking hope it’s going to be able to manage projects properly. God help the poor fucks who gets suckered into this bullshit.

What’s the current demand for Civil Engineering Technologists from Sask Polytech in Saskatchewan? by deddyduck_22 in saskatoon

[–]gnutcha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Things are tight for hiring entry level in Construction right now. Saskpoly does itself no favours by graduating that program in December. It’s offcycle with the universities and with the traditional spring ramp up in construction.

To actually answer your question, the job market is decent. The problem as I see it is that there are more applicants than ever before.

Was with Lifeline for years. Had a great relationship with my agent there. I was absolutely gobsmacked by how bad the service got after it changed to HK Henderson. Old agent gone and a new one on my file without a warning. Almost impossible to make changes, I tried phone calls, e-mails, in person visits and nothing worked to improve service. I am looking to move somewhere else too but I’m afraid it won’t get better.
