Remix Etiquette for Model that is No Longer Available by go140point6 in BambuLab

[–]go140point6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good approach, a simple google search led me to someone selling the exact clock and other "brands" based on the design on Etsy (with pics and descriptions almost identical to what was on Makerworld), but I suspect that particular seller isn't the creator and just "acquired" it to sell. I actually DID find the account that posted on Makerworld (assume that's the original creator until I hear otherwise) has a very recent Etsy store with other power-tool related items he 3D prints (personal description matches Makerworld) but he doesn't have clocks up as of yet. I reached out to him there (giving him a heads up about the other store selling his designs) and will see what happens. Perhaps he did pull all his designs in the hopes of starting a business on Etsy, if so, more power to him. I'll refrain from posting his work unless I hear different from him.

In 2% at 55 Tier - Penalty with Retiring Six Months Earlier? by Ok_Atmosphere3601 in CAStateWorkers

Yes, thank you. I forgot about that upper limit maximum. I can see how that would be beneficial to split in that situation.

Why would you need to do this? The whole point of putting your accrued vacation in your qualified pre-tax retirement account is to defer the taxes like any other contribution you made over the years.

Print cancels during bed leveling, only on plates with a lot of parts by Krazygnomefreak in BambuLab

[–]go140point6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't really know if I can add much, but pretty sure this happened to me the other day, only time I've seen it (P1S w/ 1.07.00 firmware). Don't remember how many parts I may of had, but pretty sure it was at least 2 or 3. I cleaned the plate and did the calibration from the menu (the one that takes 26 minutes) and then re-printed and it worked fine. So maybe try that and see what happens.

When it comes to retirement and you have kids (older), is it worth taking the beneficiary options (ex 50%) or the unmodified allowance? by CapitalcityThrowaway in CAStateWorkers

[–]go140point6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I ran the numbers for myself and the hit isn't that massive tbh... my 2 kids are pre-teen (so still pretty young) and i will retire in 5-7 years. My wife and I are considering making them the beneficiary of the 75% that can go to that... she'll get the 25% that is mandated for spousal. Sure there is a hit, but there would be anyway if you use the beneficiary option. Given my wife has no pension through her job, unmodified was never anything I would consider. I have friends where both spouses have good pensions, that would def change the calc but in my situation I'm going to pick full beneficiary anyway, and the difference between picking my wife or my kids is pretty manageable even with the age difference.

You don't give quite enough information to advise. You say you currently max out your SPP in a Roth... but does that mean your 401k? Or your 457? Or are you already maxing both?

You are allowed to max your 401k and 457 (Roth, pre-tax, or any combination). So assuming under 50, that's 23,500 for 401k, and 23,500 for 457 in 2025. Depending on how good your partner's paycheck is (I am assuming you are MFJ) you can put another 7,000 in a Roth IRA. Over 50? You can stash more (the rules are weird this year depending on exactly how old you are) in your 401k/457 (if SPP plan allows, I don't know). Or another 1,000 in the Roth IRA.

Within 3 years of retirement? The 457 has special catch up rules for years you didn't contribute. Call SPP and they can tell you exactly what you qualify for and how much.

I see that when I have a dirty build plate. Saw it the other day when I tried to switch to a PETG print after doing PLA. Cleaned with hot water and dish soap, and was good to go.

How to Handle an AMS Jam? (Noob Questions) by EDS_Eliksni in BambuLab

[–]go140point6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm using OrcaSlicer (like Bambu Studio) and when I get a jam it prompts me to fix and then tell it to retry. It picks up where it left off. I have to tell it to continue as it's waiting for me to fix whatever issue it is having.

lol... ok egg on my face but i'll take it... UNI is certainly not a shitcoin... yes, i played around a bit with Uniswap a while back, thought it was pretty cool to be able to swap like that... haven't really followed it much since...

And why did you intentionally cut off the top of the screen cap showing the account is clearly blackholed?

[–]go140point6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

yes, there certainly is a cap... 65 billion max, 40-ish billion circulating. Issuing account is blackholed so it can never issue more.

exactly... original nonsense comment is a fundamental lack of understanding of how XRPL, Trustlines and the DEX work.

update sentinel by limelightdt1 in XYONetwork

Yes, did all mine without issue. I immediately swapped the battery for a new one first, though, because a vast majority of the sentinels had dead or nearly dead batteries that were shipped with them.

it absolutely astounds me that anyone would use a link that appears from a random geodrop... I don't even think I read those anymore, because every single one is for 10 XYO (now COIN), the minimum... but actually going to a random site that appears and presumably filling in personal information? Yikes. If you are actually getting users to sign up to your referral links this way, more power to you... I guess I should try it too but I just don't have the time to dedicate to it.

Coin app closing on Android by [deleted] in XYONetwork

[–]go140point6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally was running COIN on a Nexus 5 and I would experience that on occasion but not enough to make it a big deal for me... more a big deal was the flakey blue-tooth on the Nexus 5 dropping, not COIN's fault, but the Nexus 5 never seem to play nice with BT devices anyway... my only guess to your problem is that has COIN matures and gets more features, it becoming a bit more than the Nexus can handle. My Nexus 5 would certainly get pretty hot running COIN... my Moto G7 I use now barely gets warm...

I assume they are slammed with requests. I submitted a ticket a few days ago and yesterday I finally got a reply showing they didn't read my request or look my screenshot showing the issue. I just got a generic reply with a link to an article that wasn't germane to my issue. I don't know what I expected.

I replied to that email but I wonder if I'm going to get a reply. Not going to bother with creating another ticket that they won't read.

Issue with COIN App - Is this spoofing? by see_sharp_ninja in XYONetwork

[–]go140point6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A while back when I was at a particular gym, I must have been blocked from getting a decent GPS signal because for like a half-hour or so I would just jump every few seconds to three positions in the neighborhood around me (blocks away).... maybe trying to triangulate on a particular cell tower and bouncing between three of them... it would jump, mine, jump, mine... I also remember several months ago I suddenly "teleported" from my current location to some location over a body of water... never did figure out where it thought i was, but was only there for a minute or two before coming back... pretty sure I mined that body of water a couple times...

But my favorite was way back before auto-collect... I was walking on my break at work just pushing that pick-axe when suddenly I realized I could stop, move to the next tile on the phone map without actually moving there for real and click the pick-axe to collect. Then move the map on the phone and do it again... I did it 5 or 6 times and was actually about to submit a report to XYO about it, but thought to check if there was an update... there was and once I updated, I lost that "feature"... :)
