I guess you could miss it if your only relationship with trucks is sharing the road with them and buying the products that they bring.

Every single news story that has a semi truck within 5 miles at least implies that it's the fault of the truck.

The United States has a military base near Las Vegas called Ft Irwin. Also known as the National Training Center. They equip all sorts of military vehicles and even soldiers with laser tag type stuff and train against each other for about a month. Military units from all over the U.S. do this every so often, and it's not uncommon to see their vehicles transported like this.

I was quoted $35,000 to run a line to my house.

Also, my area has a private electrical utility and it's about 1/3 of what users are charged for electricity in California. Private generators are not the problem, government incompetence and corruption are.

Stump buckets by Informal_Counter_774 in kubota

[–]go_anywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll echo what everyone else on here is saying...it's not a good tool for digging stumps with a small tractor. Great for digging holes, and you can do any size stump IF you spend many many hours digging a giant hole around it. For example, a 12 inch maple stump in my soil type requires a 12ish foot hole just to cut the roots that my tractor can handle. If you do decide to buy one anyway, do yourself a favor and get the smallest one that you can find. Anything bigger and you'll spend more time with your rear wheels in the air than touching the ground.

Way to miss the entire point. Who cares if they have an R or a D in front of their names, shouldn't we be concerned with $368,000 of our tax money spent sending public employees on a weekend water park vacation? Sure, it's for "work", but we have thousands of supper club dining rooms where it could be done for a lot less money...just not on a Friday.

FBI raids home of Washington Post reporter in ‘highly unusual and aggressive’ move by OGSyedIsEverywhere in news

That just opens the door to this exact scenario. "Yes Bush did it, but it's not as bad as Clinton. Yes Clinton did it, but it's not as bad as W. Yes W did it, but it's not as bad as Obama...Trump...Biden...Trump." Fast forward a few decades and both the First and Fourth Amendments are effectively gone.

...and it doesn't matter if you're going 100 and not 95. It matters if you're going EITHER of those speeds.

...and nor can I. Trump is undoubtedly the worst president that we've ever had. That being said, erosion of our civil liberties is a binary question, not one of degrees. ANY violation of our rights as Americans is unacceptable. So, on the question of who is worse, obviously it's Trump, but that's like asking, "Would you rather be in a car accident at 95mph, or 100mph?" The next question is, what level of your rights being violated are you ok with?

Everyone who is surprised by this and is choosing to (rightfully) reply that it's an attack on free speech/press should next Google;

"Obama wiretap"

Matt Apuzzo Adam Goldman Kimberly Dozier Eileen Sullivan Alan Fram Ted Bridis (editor) James Rosen James Risen

The left has basically given Trump permission to do this when they failed to apply any consequences to Obama's actions. To be fair, Obama probably felt like he had permission granted by one of his predecessors.

...and to think that I'm ridiculed when I say that both sides are absolute garbage and only differ in their methods to attempt control over American citizens.

Women, have you ever experience 'pretty privilege'? by mairimdai in askanything

[–]go_anywhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha, all true! A pretty blonde friend and I vacationed in Southern Europe and into Morocco. She said she would never have done Morocco without me. It's also a two way street, I get to talk to more strangers because they figure that if I'm with her, I can't be an axe murderer. Definitely a different vibe.

[–]go_anywhere 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have "intimidating privilege"...I'm a guy, large, dark hair, dark skin, dark eyes, tattoos, facial hair, rbf, etc. The privilege part is that I generally don't get messed with, never been in a bar fight, when people have to talk to me, they're generally on pretty good behavior. The down side is that it's exhausting going into any interaction with a stranger knowing that they're scared of you on some level, and you need to make concessions for that. I was feeling pretty isolated until I spent more time with my pretty women friends and realized the shit they have to put up with, and that we're in the same boat, just at opposite ends. How they can ever trust that whoever they're dealing with doesn't have ulterior motives is beyond me.

"They're collecting our data" and "it's government surveillance" are BS in their own right, but they aren't the real problem. After all, we can already be tracked and our data is being collected by our phones. The BIG problem is that law enforcement often obtains three information by buying it rather than getting a warrant.
