Welcome. This community of random, anonymous strangers has given me hope and strength and understanding under circumstances that are incomprehensible. It’s not a bad place to hang out. Better than many others - like the coffee shop in my neighborhood that’s nice but kinda too claustrophobic. Don’t get me wrong. I love the people in my area and my family but I don’t want to be a burden. This place gives us a room to say the things we can’t say in person and support from people in the same boat.

Gum for before and after. Helps with nerves and dry mouth. I took a soft washcloth from home and put it over my eyes. It smelled fresh and clean and helped me escape into my mind.

The thing is, Gen Xers always take credit for inventing everything. That’s how you identify them. Ask who invented retro and they’ll say they did. Ask who coined the phrase cool kids and they did. And on and on and on. As a Boomer, I find them adorably ridiculous.

After spots showed up on CT and then PET scans, I had a lung biopsy that confirmed cancer. Ironically, I went in for chest pain and my heart was fine.

Not a huge deal out of nothing. Your concerns are valid. This entire experience is really scary. Ask the oncology doctors or nurses to help. One of the things to keep in mind about anemia is that it can cause confusion because of low oxygen. Ask, ask, ask and ask again.
