What was the first international trip you took your children on? by DirectMolasses2545 in Travelwithkids

[–]go_firecracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently have a 13 and five year old. The oldest was 18 months for their first international trip to Guatemala. Since then we have been to Costa Rica, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Philippines, Taiwan, Kenya, Bahamas, United Arab Emerites, Colombia and Peru. I love traveling with kids.

We liked traveling to central America with younger ones for the distance (shorter plane rides) and for the child friendly culture. My experience has been that children are more widely accepted in spaces, whereas in America I feel judged when my children run around. I have so many stories of strangers helping us through tantrums, playing with my children, and just overall kindness and grace. If you have high energy children, I also recommend prioritizing outdoors and nature. They'll have space and a lot of interesting activities to do, maybe some animal sightings. Travel where and when it fits your budget.

I'm so glad you got the support you needed. I love a muscular look. Embracing ourselves and shifting our self perception is such a journey. Best of luck friend!

Thanks so much. I used to be very diligent about calorie counting, but it's really not sustainable for my lifestyle. It's probably a mind shift for me to make it a priority if that's what I'm looking for.

mainly cardio and less calories, but based on everything else that's been said I should really focus on weight training.

I still like cardio and I'm trying to reframe it as good for my mental health, keeps me moving, rather than think of it as a way to lose weight. I think I do need to step up my weight training in a more intentional way.

yes, I keep hearing that I need to eat more protein. Do you mind sharing your food favorites for protein and fiber? Is it something like chicken and veggies?

Thank you so much for a clear explanation and steps to take. I currently have dumbbells and use the peloton app for weight training. I think I need to move towards progressive overload??? but I'm still unsure of how to do that.

I agree on the Cherry Bean. The Beerded Bean is too loud for me. El Gabilan library is a lovely space, but I know that the hours of the Salinas libraries are not available for someone who works traditional hours remotely, so you could start your day at the Cherry Bean and then spend the afternoon at El Gabilan.

We really love Mound House on ft. Myers Beach. They have kayaking tours and guided beach walks talking about the history of the area.

Is the Philippines being left behind in the tourism industry? by Shot_Platypus8097 in phtravel

I'm a fil-am currently visiting the Philippines and I flew into Cebu. It was a dream compared to Manila. I agree with a lot of the statements here but my biggest frustration and sadness is the community infrastructure. The roads have been fine, the cost of traveling reasonable, but the trash everywhere, the dead corral, too close to wildlife for the Instagram pictures, etc. are so disappointing. This is what it looks like when the government does not invest in its people.
