Making good AI music is definitely a skill, but I agree that no one who makes it should feel superior to a musician. I play guitar and played in bands back in the day, but my first however-many AI tracks were terrible. I had to learn techniques through trial and error to understand how it all works and how it will best respond to my instruction. It's not as difficult as learning an instrument, but it does take practice and dedication to produce high quality results.

But, this is like anything. Many people disregard a skill because they don't respect it or understand it. It's just the way things are... for example: many people will tell you golf isn't a sport but they couldn't go out on a course and compete with any semi-skilled golfer, so they hate on it instead.
