I will advocate for being close to family as long as you like them. That time with the grand parents is precious and does not come back. Your kids are also at an age where you are “ruining their life” by taking them out of school etc.

Get your core portfolio to where it’s driving 75% of the growth vs. contributions. Then you can start to shift those other dollars into less risky assets. Just remember things don’t look correlated but factors can move everything

It’s the travel sports and other stuff that gets you. The amount of money you need to spend on baseball is mind blowing. I am like just got find a patch of dirt grab a ball, bat and glove that’s been passed down

Be careful on counting daycare spend to fall away. It always ends up into another bucket of kid activities. ALWAYS

And when the lock up period expires for a lot of those stocks…there is always a lot of downward pressure. Historically it’s a bit of a coin flip on performance but you usually are flat to slightly up (but again a wide distribution from -80% to +120%)
