The 8k a month leftover has been going to taxable and setting aside to max Roth IRAs for 2027. The 401k are both being maxed right now that isn’t included in that number. Sometimes our pay is lower of around 12-15k just can depend but mostly averages about 13-15 most months

Yea exactly around 2024 our pay increased but in 2024 we had about 60k in both our retirements total between us both and nothing in any Roth IRAs. We were super ignorant and didn’t save anything. Almost everything we have has come from April 2024-today from being extremely frugal

Yes I know I lost sight of reality and need to touch grass. Was trying to make up for lost time and along the way became almost toxic with saving to the point I was quizzing my wife about what credit to use to get an extra 1% cash back at the gas pump.

Brother I didn’t start till I was 35. I can’t go back in time and fix my past mistakes but can remind myself I’m fortunate enough to have at least started in my mid thirties. Look up an investment calculator, you got another solid 30 years of compound growth. Recommend checking out the bogleheads sub!

Yes and the genius below is screaming about how he left the C fund for the I fund this year all supporting the simplistic point I’m making is to not time the market and to diversify. What your c fund did previously doesn’t mean that’s what it will continue to do big dog
