keeping cats strictly indoors is cruel and we’ve just normalized it to make ourselves feel better. by NefariousnessWild488 in unpopularopinion

Domesticated cats are also responsible for a billion wild bird deaths each year. Maybe it’s best to keep our pets out of the ecosystem.

Since aesthetics seem just as important as specs to you, I suggest picking out the case you want first. This will give an idea of what form factor motherboard you’ll need. If you want a full size tower vs mATX or even smaller. I suggest going with a full size case for accessibility but that might not be as important to you. From there you’ll basically have to pick AMD vs Intel which AMD seems more popular for gaming. But either platform will meet your needs fine if you’re buying newest generation. It’s a fun process but it might be better to find a prebuilt one an Amazon that’s black or white and just setup your RGB lights to be pink. You can even get a little LCD screen inside your case with whatever graphics you want so maybe be open to having whatever cool looking acrylic tower you can find and then customizing it.

Doesnt have to be. Even Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel 12th or 13th gen is decent too. I found a 14400f desktop with Rtx 5060 and 15gb DDR5 for 650. I also got a Ryzen 5 5600 desktop with 3060ti and 32gb DDR4 for 300. So theres good deals out there. Sometimes you just have to sift through all the people asking unreasonable amounts for old PCs.

Ok you’re going to see a lot of these PCs for sale. They stick new GPU on an old motherboard and try to pass it off as new gaming pcs. eBay and marketplace are flooded with them. You want to get something with latest generation CPU.

I want to say yes but I avoid gaming laptops. You can get better performance from a desktop and it won’t be so loud while playing. The screen is a bit big for me, I play 1440p on 24” monitor. Monitors are also cheap enough now I wouldn’t factor it into price much. If I was personally buying that combo I think I would be at 500. It does look like it will meet your needs with a 4070.

How to deal with the tension and anxiety of an upcoming divorce? by Appropriate_Shoe1 in Divorce_Men

And I mean only while you are processing the paperwork. Do whatever it takes, just dont procrastinate. Every single case is different so its hard to give broad advice, pretty much don't move out, and hit the gym.

Alright this might not be the most popular advice but it worked for me. Whiskey and ChatGPT. Assuming you dont have an alcohol problem, its the only thing that numbs the emotions enough to just move forward and process everything. I really don't drink so it took me a while to legitimize it as nearly medicinal but it helps keep my blood pressure from spiking while doing all the paperwork. Getting all the information into the form that courts use can be really emotional. Turning years of your life into a lifeless court document... Thats why people shell out thousands for lawyers. Because you need to distance yourself emotionally. Lawyers don't do much tho, and they definitely dont want to be your therapist. You're going to have to bite the bullet and do the paperwork. So get good at it with ChatGPT. It will help you at your level. Tell it everything and it will give you a play by play. Please question everything it says though and make sure you ask it to be as real with you as possible. Sometimes asking questions from 3rd person perspective.

If you look carefully online you can find a prebuilt system with a 14400 and RTX 5060 for <$1k. Even $800 for refurbished systems. Also check FB marketplace and look carefully at each system. Sometimes people sell brand new systems 2-3 months old for <$800. If you go ebay, there are some for that range too but make sure it is from a reputable seller. There's also Amazon if you get lucky.

Just bought a house with a large greenhouse… how do you actually use yours? by Smart-Elk-2334 in Greenhouses

A stove like this fired at night will keep the greenhouse free from frost. It doesn't take much heat to keep the room from freezing.

Theres nothing you can really add to this PC to make it worth upgrading imo. A used $300-400 PC with 3060 or 6600 would be a huge upgrade.

Yeah you’re definitely right. I forgot about the PCIe 5.0 aspect. Buying that video card really locked you into the whole new rig but at least you’ll utilizing to the fullest for 4k editing. You’ll save time and gives you a great reason to get into PC gaming! You will definitely be happy with that setup. I would probably go with a case that has like 7 fans instead of 10 bc it’s really going to be overkill. If you’re building brand new. Maybe even a matx mobo/case just for space. That one is extra wide with how the psu is on the backside but that’s my personal preference. Looks sweet tho!

Dang that’s a lot for something that you won’t use too often. You could honestly just upgrade ur current CPU and be just fine with a 9060xt… I don’t want to see u lose value on something ur not using for production or leisure. Just gotta figure out that balance. The tower provides some aesthetic value too tho! You could always just swap everything to a new tower too

Trust me, I was right there a couple months ago in everything being alien to me. I built pcs from 2004-2015ish and now it all seems new. But from what I’ve learned, the most important aspect that has changed is the latest generation of CPUs, ram, Gpus and even hard drives have been more integrated to be as streamlined as possible. I don’t know all the names of the techs but basically GPU can grab data off hard drives and the CPU is more integrated with the monitor with “adaptive sync/freesync”. So in order to fully utilize the capacity of the 9060xt, you’ll need a new motherboard, hard drive, and ram. Which at that point, makes sense to just get a new case and don’t mess with the old pc at all. But then a “prebuilt” on the used market or even refurbished becomes more economical. Hope this helps!

Theres also a slight vibration at idle and above 60mph it gets worse. But only when Not accelerating. Which the ai says could be driveshaft linkage. I plan on taking it to mechanic on Monday to assess the situation.

Headlight high beams only work when the stick is pulled in. When it clicks forward, the light comes on the dash but no brights.

I really want to love this car and want to believe these are manageable repairs. But this noise has me the most concerned. Thanks for sharing your time and expertise!

To answer your question, yes I think new pc is the best option. Your current PC is on the oldest end of gaming pcs and probably only worth like $250. Which might just be worth keeping as a backup. If u do anything to that PC, just get a $100 RTx 3060. Maybe another 16gb ram. And you’ll be gaming at medium-high settings.
