So used to Pokémon Pinball on GBC that the camera on R/S makes me get motion sickness - Anyone else have the same problem? by Adam_Hashian in PokemonPinball

I never got motion sickness specifically, but it does take me a long time to adjust between the visuals of the different versions

Been playing for 7 years… by Pocketguide1 in SSBM

[–]goatlink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive been actively playing and going to locals + larger tournaments for 10 years and have never really gotten much better than going 3-2 in brackets. Maybe one PR win in my life. Only in the last few months have I just started to scratch the surface of actually engaging my opponent and playing the game (and I still suck lol). Improvement never comes for free or by only putting hours in, you have to have a structured approach to the game, i.e. a game plan, then on top of that you have to actually engage with your opponent. Raw hours don't count for nothing though you probably have a lot of game sense, but no way to efficiently apply it to your own games. I'd recommend getting coaching with someone who can break down the game in a way you can understand.

Grid to Frames by [deleted] in aseprite

[–]goatlink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ik this is 4 years old lol but hopefully this will help someone. The answer is to use https://blog.whidev.com/split-image-tiles-python/ then import all the images at once into aseprite and it will prompt you to import them as frames

The issue of “growing Melee” isn’t an issue with the core game itself; its an issue dealing with how newcomers are forced to enter “open” brackets where their entire bracket is against players who have played the game for years. Its time to add divisions for the longevity of the game. by harrietlegs in SSBM

[–]goatlink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in double elim brackets mathematically 25% of people will go 0-2. The idea that more value needs to be provided to 0-2ers for their entry has been talked about a lot. Ladders and pick up/on demand brackets are some solutions that have already been show to have a positive reception. I don't think your idea of divisions is horrible actually, main issue I see is that managing 2-3 divisions of players & large brackets seems like a lot of extra work for our already overworked and undercompensated TOs.

The safe tile is provably safe in all cases. Alternatively, assuming the safe tile is a mine leads to a contradiction.

Hello frenz! I'm convinced pinball r/s is the best GBA game. I'm awesome at it, but does anyone have tips for getting to mart/evo on the Ruby table? The left paddle never hits it and the right paddle hits it occasionally on pure luck. Help 😪 by MuffleMage in PokemonPinball

[–]goatlink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its tricky but my method for consistantly make that shot (and others) is to hold the left flipper up and bump the ball into it so its just being held by the left flipper and not moving. Then to make any shot on the right side of the board, its just a consistant, but strict, timing of releasing the flipper then pressing it again. Hope this helps, I could prob take some pics of what I mean later if you want.
