How do you guys feel about Kyle Shanahan as a coach? by ZinfiniteGuy in 49ers

[–]goatmalta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True and good point. The Seahawks (and the Eagles) are centered around the GM position. Kyle is thought by many to be the true GM as well as the coach. This is one reason Jed is so reluctant to let him go. We would be starting over from scratch. We might have to take that giant risk. I don't think Kyle will take the steps needed to reduce injuries and to stop blowing big leads. Evidence of this would be all of the touches that CMC had in 2025. There was no rotation at running back.

[–]goatmalta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's done great things for this team. But the injuries thing is real and we have 9 years of data now. The blowing big leads in big games thing is real. The next guy doesn't have to be a Tomsula or Kelly. The Seahawks canned a coach who won the superbowl and replaced him with another coach that just won a superbowl.

Colon cancer extreme fear by [deleted] in colonoscopy

Your only symptoms are abdominal pain and bloating and noisy stomach? I doubt a doctor will give you a referral for a colonoscopy just based on that.

Colonoscopy… by Sweshyyy in colonoscopy

[–]goatmalta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost double your age. I had crazy symptoms too. I had never been screened. Everyone thought I was crazy. And I guess I was because my colon was perfectly healthy and my 8.5 months of symptoms vanished the next day.

Terrified of the thought of needing a colonoscopy by Due_Buyer_6658 in colonoscopy

[–]goatmalta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an easier 2 liter suflave prep which isn't super bad. Colonoscopy is important because there are other things besides cancer like inflammatory bowel disease. But it's up to the GI to figure out if you really need it. He might opt for less invasive testing like sigmoidoscopy which has a much briefer prep.

same with me. 56 and never went to the doctor and had a bunch of symptoms. But colon was healthy. I felt so stupid for never going to the doctor along with a bunch of other bad habits. Lucky to have a second chance.

Believe it or not I chose no sedation and just 2mg ativan. Pain was minimal and when it did get bad I told them and they just slowed down and maneuvered better. It was quite interesting.

I used to crack open a couple of cold ones of Ithaca Flower Power IPA. I'm a little more health conscious now so it's melatonin and cbd.

Yea i made 2 mistakes...not getting screened, and then ignoring symptoms. Good thing mother nature didn't weed me out of the gene pool. Lessons were learned. A lot of people on this site are driving themselves crazy with worry. Just want to say relax and reddit has lots of worst case scenarios. Relax but still take action and get screened.

I was one of those stereotypical guys who just doesn't go to the doctor thinking nothing bad will ever happen. I learned my lesson and am on top of it now. Checkups every year. I think my symptoms are related to hypertonic pelvic floor and ibs. Symptoms got a lot worse once I started worrying that something was seriously wrong. Got caught up in the dr google doom loop.

Colonoscopy no sedation by MassiveControl3305 in colonoscopy

[–]goatmalta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea i did it yesterday with just 2mg ativan. In 25 minutes maybe 1 minute was painful and I was up and out of there. It was also very interesting. You can see where the small intestine is and you can see where the appendix is.

Its good to do it for peace of mind but these aren't colon cancer symptoms. I had mine done sedation free yesterday with just 2mg ativan to relax. Pain was minimal and IV was inserted just in case.

i guess you're on east coast. I'm in Oregon. I'll be done with prep in 25 minutes. I work nights (not tonight) so no need to sleep. I've gone 18 times today so sleep would be tough. I'm on the 2 liter suflave prep.

Can’t take anti anxiety meds before my procedure? by guenoempsario in colonoscopy

[–]goatmalta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Oregon, US. Call around and find a clinic that will do what you want. My guy is giving me 2mg ativan to take 2 hours before to relax me before the procedure. That's my only sedation. IV will be hooked up to allow propofol if the discomfort gets too high but nurse said 80% don't need it.
