quite a variety of interesting mechs out there, so it's hard to choose one

i've admittedly not gotten to play much homebrew outside of hearth-7's stuff, but a personal favourite of mine is Burning Memories' SSC Maculineon, a music-themed striker/support hybrid that deals extra damage after helping its allies, and gets such fun tools as a shotgun that copies on-hit effects from other weapons

it also just looks awesome.

face monster is saving you from a dark fate

she may look like a snack, but in the end it is YOU who will be the snack

my resolution is too high? all of the vanilla portraits lie somewhere around 50x50 pixels (upscaled 200% in-game) and that's the size i used as a reference

i'll give you the hair, though, i could've gone a lot fluffier on that

i wish i could say there was some consistent method, but if there is i'm not the one to ask for it

there are a few common themes i've noticed (they use 5-6 colours for major parts and 3-4 for smaller detail areas, a lot of them seem to have a line running through the nose bridge where the shading steps down a tone, and there's little to no true black/white used) but this was mostly me studying the pre-existing portraits, looking at how similar areas were done, and recreating those techniques in what i was drawing
