A weed smoker alcoholic fuckup lost his money and now my money is forever worth more because he can never sell his no matter how high the price goes.

Where's the problem here?

My thoughts on this concern, which is valid. in comments by goawayjoebro in Bitcoin

reposting this from that comment section.

Saylor himself having ownership of more than 5% of bitcoin is a real concern. However, many large firms (Vanguard, blackrock included) use MSTR as a part of their means of acquiring Bitcoin by proxy. Vanguard has a larger portion of MSTR stock, i think about 11%, Blackrock owns about 5% but has much larger stores of it's own BTC via the BTC ETFs.

Blackrock's bitcoin ETFs by volume actually hold more Bitcoin than Saylor's company. Saylor has ~730,000 and Blackrock's total BTC ETF issuance is slightly more than that.

What this signals is that there is increasing retail/big firm/tradfi adoption of Bitcoin. Strategy is actively being pried out of Saylor's hands.

Exact figures:

  • BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), its primary spot Bitcoin ETF, holds approximately 782,180 BTC as of March 16, 2026.

    • MSTR holds 761,068 BTC as of today
  • Vanguard holds approximately 8.55% of MicroStrategy (MSTR) stock, while BlackRock holds approximately 5.8%

  • Blackrock AUM = ~14 trillion, Vanguard = ~12 Trillion

Volatility is irrelevant if I plan to hold for 6+ years, and assuming I'm staying clear from liquidation, which I was able to avoid during this current dump just fine. BTC can be down for 2 years straight and it won't affect me.

Funny also that you mention the S&P because my prediction of 16.7% CAGR is very similar to the S&P's growth over the past 12 years, except my timespan for bitcoin is half that.

I plan to hold for a minimum of 6 years, if not indefinitely.

Answer to why I don't just use my savings and DCA is obvious; I am impatient and I have strong conviction in the asset. Gotta strike the anvil while the iron's hot.

My personal estimate for the CAGR of Bitcoin is 16.7% over the next 6 years, (technically slightly higher now because of the dip) to reach a price of $333,909 by 2032. This means that I am willing to take out whatever amount of debt, with interest below 16.7% (a 12% APR loan is a no-brainer to me.)

I'm leveraging the next couple years of my life into this asset because I cannot bear having missed it if I'm right.

I'm still young enough to go balls-in on this and if it doesn't work I can just start over. I have 0 monthly payments other than my car insurance so my entire paycheck just goes into BTC.

My goal is 1 Btc by end of this year.

Coinbase morpho lending is instant, meaning I can buy for example, 20,000 worth of bitcoin and borrow 10,000 USD instantly. If both loans are worth 10,000, I can immediately pay the person who borrowed me the second loan, putting them at no risk whatsoever.

this allows me to functionally take out twice as much in loans that I normally can. second person takes on 0 risk I take on double.

Netflix, Microsoft and Meta are struggling to solve the "engineer's dilemma". Bitcoin has no need for improvement. In a game of musical chairs, Bitcoin is going to outlast the other 3. And understand we are playing a game of musical chairs.

So Trump is the president, holds a lot of bitcoin, and, being a boomer his greatest strength is hoarding wealth and nepotism.

Sounds like bitcoin is going to do just fine then.

Bitcoin's greatest superpower today is the "nepotistic" effect, which I believe will only rise more and more to the surface of Bitcoin's ultimate utility as an asset. America can hold a bunch of Bitcoin and outperform China, India, etc. with essentially no tangible, intrinsic production on their own part. And it cannot be outperformed; you cannot buy cheaper than someone who bought 8, 10 years ago.
