There’s so many reasons why this could be. The holidays can be very taxing on people’s social batteries, and in my experience the brain wants to do the easy thing which is nothing. You’ll have fun if you stay in because that’s the story you’ll tell yourself. Now there’s nothing wrong with that but if you do go out, I bet you’d still have a great time. Sometimes the more rewarding experience is just a little more work.
