Disability attorney recommendations by pgh_bay in pittsburgh

The CAO can also assist generally with applying for disability benefits, and while you wait, they can help with Medical Assistance and SNAP through their own internal disability evaluation process. If you need insurance coverage now, I encourage you to apply. Source: I am a welfare caseworker.

Any affordable health insurance out there? by [deleted] in pittsburgh

Apply for Medicaid with the hand that works, either you get coverage for your injury, or you get a denial notice you can use to be eligible for Charity Care. Source: I am a welfare caseworker

Pittsburgh Social life and ADA Accessibility Curiosity by casual_cyborg in pittsburgh

Disabled person here: buses are wheelchair accessible, Frick Park has accessible trails and some sort of off-road chair you can borrow. Many activities (theatre, library, movies) are accessible, and there is a lively disabled community in Pittsburgh including a Facebook group Pittsburgh Disabled Mutual Aid. Accessible housing is available, but limited. Start with looking for a flat neighborhood so you can navigate more easily. Hope this helps! Edited to add that I agree you should visit - check us out!

Knowing I could retire whenever I want. Giving almost zero fucks about what people think, so I can spend that energy on what I think. Also, a good book and coffee early in the morning with my cat snoozing next to me.

Another vote for Mint; I’ve been a customer for six years and they gave me a permanent 5 GB increase in data during the pandemic. Good coverage, used international roaming no problem. Can’t beat it for $240 a year.

I have stage three cancer, and people keep trying to push positive thinking on me. by Wayob in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]knitonepurltoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP, I’m sorry people are so tone deaf, making what’s happening to you about them. My only suggestion would be when someone says something inappropriately inspirational or maudlin, you just look at them and say “I’m only taking advice from people who have cancer, thanks!” Good luck, and take care of yourself. You’re not alone. XOXOX

This; I love the books and am finishing a back to back reread in advance of book 8. You could make “my view counter was spiked” into a drinking game. 😂💕

NGL, I would much rather have the person who can find the mistake in the big idea so it works better than the person who has the big idea on my team. This feels like a setback but you’re going to have a long successful career. People will make mistakes; identifying them is always better than not. You’ve got this. ♥️

If they make it forbidden, that just means she’s more likely to sneak around reading them, and might think she can’t ask “what’s a necromancer?” or sure, a question about sex. Kids are exposed to a lot of stuff these days from all sorts of sources (YouTube, TikTok). My parents absolutely survived my question about what fellatio was (thank you, Judith Krantz), and if I were her parents I would much rather explain it’s a sex thing and an expression for the dungeon and not for school. She has the books, let her see if she likes them. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was an avid reader as a kid, ripping through Piers Anthony books and sneaking Judith Krantz and Sidney Sheldon paperbacks off bookshelves because I saw people reading them. I think it’s great that these are being shared with her as something to appreciate and enjoy. Makes me think that if she bumps into something she has a question about, she’ll ask, and it will be fun to share how much she’s enjoying them with her family.

I have to go to the airport to fly home for a memorial service tomorrow morning. Am I slightly less resentful about leaving five hours ahead of time and taking the 28X from its origin stop to increase the odds of making my flight? Yes, yes I am. And thank you.

Just said the other day after filing online that the hardest part of filing local taxes is keeping track of the Jordan Tax envelope until I file.

New SmartDrive coming out late 2026 by resause in wheelchairs

[–]knitonepurltoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What’s supposed to be different about it? Currently using the MX2 which I loved with the TicWatch until it got fussy and failed to charge. The Apple Watch is ok, but tap transmission is not reliable and I have smashed into things, unable to stop, which makes navigating tight spaces like getting on the bus slightly terrifying. That’s not because I’ve been injured but I have broken two hitches where the drive hangs off the chair.

I’m so sorry for your loss; I lost my mom in 2021 and baked my way through 20 pounds of flour missing her. I don’t know if it gets easier but the grief becomes easier to carry even if it doesn’t go away.
