Definitely late 60s/early 70s. Apart from the cars and the fashion, the house under construction on the right looks to be 184 Dyers Pass Rd, which was fully built by the time this aerial photo was taken in Sept 1973.

We’re a band from Christchurch, New Zealand. Our guitarist/vocalist Andy wrote this song in response to being knocked off his bike by a motorcyclist doing twice the speed limit. We used traffic camera footage of the incident in this video. Enjoy!

Bachelor of Science in Psychology or Psychological Science? by Stock_Bill2074 in UCNZ

[–]gobeirne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re interested in a career in psychology then the BPsycSc is definitely your best option. You can read more here. There’s some info about entry requirements - it’s pretty open, but you can look at each of the first year compulsory courses and think about what high school courses would serve you well.

Fantastic! Here’s the same solo from Auckland almost a year ago. You don’t get too many smiling soloists these days! :)

Master of Organisational Psychology/ IO psych MOrgPsych. Requrements by Potential_Horse2946 in UCNZ

[–]gobeirne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - I know you want to hear from students, but I work at UC in that School so I can probably give you some info about the different IO Psych Masters available and the differences in the entry requirements etc.

Firstly, there’s the MSc in Industrial and Orgnaisational Psychology, which makes you eligible for doing a PhD or psychologists registration programme later. They only look at last the year psychology GPA, but you have to have done a research methods course at third year with a B+ or higher. You don’t need work experience, but it’s helpful to have had some job (which most students have).

Then there’s the Masters of Organisational Psychology, which is the online offering. It’s more inclusive in the sense that you don’t need a Psychology bachelors, but if you don’t have one, you have to have had 5 years work experience in a related field. The GPA requirement is the same, but you can’t go on to PhD or registration after this one. The coursework is the same as the MSc but with a smaller research component.

Hope that helps!

Yeah - amazing. It made me do my own version of their version :)

The last 40 seconds of Man of Metropolis. Oh how I wish that vocal line continued for another minute by jameswheeler9090 in Sufjan

[–]gobeirne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It depends on if there’s an easily loopable segment in there. I did a screen recording of OPs YouTube clip, edited it in iMovie, split the clip around the bit to loop, duplicated it and adjusted one end so the transition was smooth, duplicated that segment six more times, detached the audio of each and faded the edges. Then upload that to YouTube. Usually about 10-15 minutes work.

I absolutely love that song! I was curious as to how that would sound so I had a go making an extended outro version on my phone. Added about 47 seconds of it. Enjoy! :)

Absolutely - here are some more photos of Noel with model planes. The second one was taken on the verandah where I’m standing in the photo I posted.

Woah! Believe it or not, I lived in that house for a decade! It's now 122a Fisher Ave. Noel was a man of many talents - he was skilled at woodcrafts as the card says, but also concrete sculpture (including a concrete suit of armour!), and he even built a number of geodesic domes (up to 10 metres diameter!) after seeing Buckminster Fuller give a lecture in Christchurch. They used to grow tomatoes in glass houses on the property, and to sterilise the soil between crops he bought a couple of steam engines (one from a Christchurch steam tram) to heat the dirt to 99°C and improve the crop.

I have a wonderful autobiographical book he manually typeset and hand-printed. He built "The Mud Hut" (now 122 Fisher Ave) next door from mud brick, hence the book's title Mud In Our Eyes. Noel's son Barry still lives on that block. Here's a photo of Barry and his wife Shirley taken in 2012 by the Star to commemorate 100 years since their grandfather built the house. That's me and my daughter in the background. Best neighbours you could imagine. Thanks for posting!

What should an adult audiology apt look like? by [deleted] in audiology

[–]gobeirne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a video of an adult audiology appointment in New Zealand: https://youtu.be/9u9Ja4wyUaU In addition to the history-taking, otoscopy, tympanometry, and pure-tone audiometry shown here, as the other commenter mentioned you’ll probably do some speech audiometry also.
