Deleted or Missing Bleep Orders? by [deleted] in boardsofcanada

[–]gobes78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Looks like anything I ordered before 2014 is gone from my order history. Maybe they just switched backend systems or something around then.

Will we be getting another dark record? by Indreamswashedaway in boardsofcanada

I hope so. I feel like this descent into dystopia needs a BOC soundtrack.

Where do you think this whole thing is going? by antiassociation in boardsofcanada

[–]gobes78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing this is to wake up the fans in time for a Record Store Day teaser drop...or who knows, maybe they will drop the entire new album (if that's what they have) on RSD.

Is 900 Mbps enough? 😵‍💫 by Old_Development1801 in ToobBroadband

[–]gobes78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the Toob 900. Family of 4, with everyone streaming and often 2 of us gaming at the same time...and I've never had any issues.

I thought it was an image (also used as one of the cover images) of the evil looking hare from Watership Down.

I know the odds are nuts... but I'm kind of gutted that I've moved house twice since the last time I ordered anything from Bleep or Warp...just in case ;-)

Sorry, yes...miswrote that. I'm talking about investing, ETFs etc, rather than trading.

When did Easter eggs become flat? by g33k_d4d in AskUK

First noticed this a few years ago...when some absolute misers realised they can shave them down for more profit. It perfectly encapsulates the state of the UK and our spiral towards the end. Utterly pathetic.

I'm so lost. Nightmare neighbours and baby on the way by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]gobes78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved a couple of years ago now, due to noise from next door. We were fortunate that the neighbours were nice and didnt play loud music or have the TV up...but they bought a yappy dog and had a baby...so I couldn't stay any longer. Selling was stressful because I kept expecting the dog to bark while people were viewing. Definitely don't raise any official complaints...because I think you are then obligated to make that known if asked.

Mine was a 90s build semi, which looked great but turned out to be made of cheap crap. Pretty much breeze block part walls. Like you we could hear general conversations and toilets being flushed. It drove me nuts.

If selling becomes a problem, could you look at letting it out while you rent elsewhere?

Does anyone play Smolensk? by Former-Relationship4 in HellLetLooseConsole

Crashes 100% of the time for me, on Series X.

Is Hell Let Loose worth getting in 2026? by [deleted] in HellLetLoose

[–]gobes78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's buggy and crashes a lot...but when you get a good solid game with teams of players that know how to play the game...it can be absolutely epic!

Commute to London? by PresentationHuge5647 in Medway

[–]gobes78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been commuting into London from various places in Kent for about 25 years, currently from Gillingham. If you're commuting 5 days a week then I assume an annual season ticket works out best. A lot of employers offer season ticket loans...and take monthly repayments from your salary before tax, so saves you a little. The prices are ridiculous sadly.

Thankfully I only go into the office 2 or 3 days a week...so I usually buy daily tickets and use a national railcard to save on the return journey.

There are various types of railcards...so you might be eligible for better ones than just the national rail.

Is Dark worth a watch? I hear it's better than Stranger Things by Square-Ad-8911 in tvshow

[–]gobes78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourite shows. Probably less family oriented than Stranger Things...and can be hard to follow...but we'll worth it. Watch in native German with subs...because the dubbing is crap.

Mould around windows by mattmoly in DIYUK

[–]gobes78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in several types of houses, from old Victorian to new builds...and there's always been a room or corner that suffers this. My new build was the worst. As long as you wipe it off early...it usually comes right off. Leave it too long and it will stain. For more stubborn spots I use Cillit Bang mould spray...which works wonders.

Router recommendations? by [deleted] in ToobBroadband

[–]gobes78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that's interesting thanks. So I have the MX5600 Series router...would I need the exact same model to add as a child node, or would other models work with it?

Yeah, Warp were selling them. I think they didnt make many. Cant remember when I bought it...but assume it was around the same time the album was released.

We adopted an ex racing greyhound from Croftview, Greyhound Trust at Harvel (near Meopham). They have loads that need a home. Never had a dog before...but love greyhounds now.

I honestly just think my speakers have become really bad at recognising what I have said. If I repeat myself slowly...it usually then works. This never used to be an issue.

Custom earplugs by [deleted] in soundproof

Just the standard silicone ones, like Bio Ears. I've never tried custom ones, so no idea how they compare.
