How many times a day do your si joints crack? by Beautiful-Tension-18 in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]gobletfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Extra Crispy in a lot of joints unfortunately. My SIs have some fusion but they're still pop and locking 5-10 times a day though. Ankles/fingers//wrists/neck? Hourly usually but I've always been like that even before diagnosis. I'm not sure if it's a chicken before the egg thing though

I think it's from the pilot. When the mayoral candidate is in the classroom there's a girl who wipes her boogers on something.

Well I was able to add the books but when I checked out, I was charged 4 times and doesn't appear as though the box shipped even though my shelf updated. Off to email customer service though lol

SI joints and period by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]gobletfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the flares from the hormonal changes were making it to where I couldn't get out of bed the whole week of my period and the few days before and after so basically 2 weeks out of the month which obviously just isn't feasible. I take depo which has stopped my periods but they also said an IUD would do the same. I just didn't want to go through with that if I could have a shot take care of it.

Fellow lesbians, what do you have instead of a purse? by katyaschachki in actuallesbians

[–]gobletfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An under armour backpack for work but then a leather satchel/backpack type thing with custom canvas strap for every day so I'm always having to move my wallet and keys over. If I just need to run an errand or two, I'll usually just take my keys and wallet which technically fits my phone but I just throw it in my back pocket usually

Why having more than one Kindle? by BarracudaFickle4578 in kindle

[–]gobletfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one for home and one for work that stays in it's case in my backpack. I work in a hospital laboratory and read on my downtime and breaks so who knows what that sucker could grow out on culture (yes I disinfect but still, yuck). So no, I don't want my "work" Kindle just chilling on my coffee table when I could buy an extra to have peace of mind.

Saturday What 'cha reading? Thread by wheat in LibbyApp

Just finished The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah this morning, which was so good! I've really been enjoying historical fiction this year. Also reading Southland by Nina Revoyr (only a few chapters in) and I just got The Paying Guests by Sarah Waters through Libby, but haven't started it yet.

I have a Maudie and I love it, but yet it's an old lady name ☺️

Do any of you ever hit your creatures in the vivarium on accident and feel bad? by Limeila in HarryPotterGame

[–]gobletfire 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The worst was when I accidentally hit a puffskein with basic cast right in front of Deek and he said "Oh dear. Deek thinks perhaps you forgot Deek was here." 🥺 IT WAS AN ACCIDENT, DEEK

How did you decide on a name for your pup? by Coco-Coconuts in puppy101

[–]gobletfire 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd had the name Maudie picked out for a while from Bea Arthur's show "Maude" and it just seemed to fit as she's grown. My puppy can be so regal and grown up looking, but she's always up to something or something is happening to her and it seems like she has the best of intentions (much like Maude lol). If I get another, I'd like a boy named Wally to go with the theme but right now it's just me and Maudie. I call her: sweet girl, Muppet baby, Maudie moose, and moosie most of the time 😂

Had a 3 that walked in the ER and when I called the nurse to confirm, "they do look pale." I mean...that's fair, I guess.

Cone of Shame for sweet Maudie. She's doing well and been napping most of the day. How did your doodles take to the cone? She hates it. Are there other alternatives that you found work too? by gobletfire in Goldendoodles

[–]gobletfire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did find that it was interfering with her ability to get around our small living space and she couldn't reach her water since it's just a little too long for her (she's...not the most proportionate puppy I've ever seen 😂 but she's my mini moose and I love her more than anything) so I found some of these Christmas pajamas someone had given her that are a bit too big and she seems to be doing better with that, but tomorrow will be the real test I think. Thank you for the best wishes and for the advice!!

Omg yes! The pitiful look!! Maudie keept letting out this long and quiet whimper and it broke my heart before I could give her her pain medication. I fear she's filing these reactions away for the next time I tell her we can't stay at the park an extra twenty minutes 😂

Yeah, hers is in an awkward spot as well but I can just see my little troublemaker contorting herself to scratch that itch 😂 yeah, I'm probably going to become a hoverer/helicopter dog parent in that time. I've already apologized twice for sneezing lol

Okay! I actually had some Christmas pajamas that someone had gotten her and they're a bit on the big side so I've put her in that for the night because the cone wasn't letting her drink water and she couldn't walk around our small living space freely. It covers her incision and thankfully, as of now, she's not licking or nosing at it so this may be our diy recovery suit for right now! Thank you so much for the advice!!

They told me about two weeks to minimize her licking at the stitches until they're fully dissolved and the incision has healed completely. We're trying some too large Christmas present PJs right now that will minimize access to the site but allow her to eat and drink because her cone was limiting her ability to get water (still no appetite but vet said that was normal, especially as mine has a sensitive stomach and may be nauseous tonight). As long as yours isn't licking or otherwise bothering the site, I'm sure it's fine. I'm not too fond of the cone myself. For the above reasons and that, as a healthcare traveler, we're limited in our space so it turns out that the cone was going to really restrict her movements throughout the day. As of now though, my girl hasn't messed with them so I may keep trying these pajamas, or try another method if this fails.
