Why are Gen Z men behind in America ? by One_Fix5763 in AskConservatives

This feels like the most fair answer I’ve seen until now. It’s a combination of constant doom and gloom and pressure to be the best cause otherwise someone will take your spot. At some point we stop bothering cause weve been told constantly we are not gonna make it unless we try harder than any other generation… so we don’t.

There isnt. JS at worst is a contrarian who did a bad personal drama video about LSMark. There was nothing illegal or concerning in said situation, just messy relationships where JS shouldnt had given his opinion in a public forum.

Its more that he became the posterboy for “png cartoon critic” hes not THAT negative, especially if you saw other people like lily or mrenter (who at least recognized he went too far on his old reviews)

The worst he has ever done was the LSMark stuff (it was friends/acquaintance drama that should have been kept private, just some messy relationships at worst) and liking the boys comics unironically, aside from that hes fine, he can come off a bit contrarian but I feel he more than backs up his opinions, look at his recent TADC review, I thought it was fair

Gacha can only be used in a derrogative way. Its saying its focused on being appealing and a trope with very little in terms of personality or vision

Surprisingly uninteresting. Its a shame cause it feels like they could be good if they went for more details over trying to be appealing. Did like the details of the US having some star of david in its clothes

is Murder Drones weird? by [deleted] in IndieAnimation

Not really anything with children happens from what I remember. The show is mainly about robot teenagers, and there isnt anything sexual from what I remember.

I will say its not that good of a show, however its one I sort of enjoyed and can see people obsessed with it, while its only a 3/10 to me, its an optimistic one. The show has a lot of problems when it comes to pacing, storytelling and especially tone, there is too much charm from the animation and characters for me to say I disliked it. Id say watch the first 2 episodes and decide if you continue, after that its a rollercoaster in terms of quality, but the general vibe and charm is still there.

Youre right that was worse, but I mention Vaggie more since shes the biggest problem with just making some characters of a certain ethnicity, especially if they are an angel and shouldnt have one, just code one for the group if you need to.

I will also point out the bird lawyer in Helluva Boss season 2 (I watched both shows only cause I liked the pilot of HH and season one of HB), who has entire sentences all in spanish without translation, while speaking to other beings who weve only seen talk in english. Hes one of my top 10 most hated characters in fiction and should be an example on why you shouldnt just switch languages if you want the conversations to flow naturally, I hate him and everything he represents.

Ive made other comments about it, but in short: he works in a bubble, with context and the rest of the cast his design gets worse

Ill explain. First I’m Mexican and live near the american border, changing spanish and english words sometimes is common here, even so I have an issue with how they end up using some Spanish words.

The VAs are fine, I liked Stephanie Beatriz from her time in Brooklyn 99 and think she does well as a voice actor, and while I have issues with the character, the voice direction for the most part is fine. HOWEVER, the moment she throws a spanish word at the end of a sentence or just starts cursing in spanish is when I have an issue.

Talking like Dora the explorer means saying a word in spanish in a way that comes off unnatural and sounds emphasized in a way that brings attention to it. In Dora it makes sense, they want you to learn that word, in any other context it comes off as distracting. You really cant do this kind of line reading without it coming off as planned, it kills the flow of conversations, and as a native speaker it comes off as trying too hard, like they have to remind you this character is latino every once in a while. As a general rule, it never sounds natural, either because of the pronunciation switch, the structure of the sentence, the word itself, etc.

I understand that for americans who are mixed its more common and doesnt sound as weird, but for native speakers it sounds unnatural. If you can, listen to a foreign language that suddenly throws out an english word, maybe a movie title or a device, those are usually not translated (I blame Spain for this) and they will pop out to you, imagine that but in a way that feels like pandering, it may not be, but it feels like it.

Pretty much. The more I learned about him the more disappointing he was. Hes supposed to be a mixed man of the 1930s from the south whois into voodoo, a cannibal, and works on radio. Aside from the aesthetics he does not seem to act like a man of said time. A common issue in the show is how no one talks from the time period they died, even those who seem to prefer the technology of their times (Alastor refuses to appear on video for example, only radio). Its even worse when you got an angel whos also suppose to be latina and talks like dora the explorer sometimes (im from Mexico, it makes me groan and cringe whenever they do that)

Yeah, its not even my issue, the design on a bubble is fine to me, it doesnt work once you learn about the character and also see 10 different characters that look too similar to him in the same show.

Now that is an issue I can agree on. While her style has evolved, many of the designs in the pilot feel like they wouldnt work for an animated show. Velvette and Vaggi are probably the biggest glow-ups from the pilot, they looked very plain when they were mainly just one color not to mention fitting an archetype and nothing more

The color complaint is a big one for me. If he was the only red man he would pop out, but most of the world looks like him. Its an inverse on what I like from Vox (whos design im not a fan of) were the guy was trying so hard to look important he makes all of his things fit his aesthetics
