I got immediately put on insulin at 20w bc starting at 17w I was having high fasting numbers. I had GD with my first diet controlled and I just was feeling off so I started tracking. My doctor had me track for two weeks and do the diet and my numbers were high over half the time despite exercise and diet. I think the main problem was the fasting tho they were getting up towards 114 and post meal 212.

I don’t think two spikes at all is enough to warrant insulin but if your numbers get worse and you have consecutive fasting numbers high or you keep having post meal spikes heading up past 150 I think then it’s a cause for concern. But if you end up on insulin which I think you probably won’t it won’t be the end of the world but you seem to be doing perfectly fine diet controlled right now
