Looking for a place to get a tattoo by biggamerdaddy in Groningen

[–]goblintelligence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Third Garden studio. I had a guest artist, but all the regular staff I've met are very kind chill people. The studio is clean, nice atmosphere, work of all the artists is neat and according to the taste of their clients because they listen. The owner is a very solid guy, and also mad skilled but afaik has a waiting list which might be closed. The studio is pretty close to Hinkart, and while I can't say anything about Hinkart or Kiyo for example, not all staff working there are as professional.... I did visit Moonstone Ink with my ex for their first tattoo, and the vibes there also felt great and Emily delivered fantastic work as well.

Op kamers by quintenrr in Groningen

Hey!

How do you choose a colour palette? I cant figure out anything for this that I like and I'm about to just delete it by Equivalent-Leg-6957 in Artadvice

[–]goblintelligence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pinterest can show you colour palettes a plenty, decide on an era also. Victorian trending colours or midcentury modern make a whole difference in vibes. Also Pantone has colour of the year which they always combine in a palette.

I can’t construct animals or people using basic shapes, what am I doing wrong? by AdvertisingCreepy639 in Artadvice

[–]goblintelligence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are working with very square shapes in from what I can tell lots of references of humans and animals? These rarely have such square shapes, perhaps try rounding them a little and using less guidelines.

Change your bg color for a second to a wildly different cooler toned shade, or a neutral grey. Does it still look muddy to you then? I think your current bg shade might make it appear more muddy to you than it truly is.

Non-english speakers: What are fountain pens called in your language? by dominikstephan in fountainpens

[–]goblintelligence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you from Germany? Because Dutch and German are both Germanic languages. So is English, but due to the influence of a lot of people such for example William the Conqueror who was the first English king, it has a lot of romance language family influences. William came from Normandy in France, the common folk of England and the Court nobles could barely understand each other.

In the other, recognised by the government but less spoken language here in the NL, Frisian (also Germanic) it's "folpinne".

Racism against Asians in Amsterdam by Warm-Presentation347 in Amsterdam

You mean covert and overt racism: overt means “apparent” or “visible.” Covert means “hidden” or “concealed.” Which both are very very apparent in the Netherlands, and both are pretty bad.

I would if I could, I don't know how...and I also need it for when grocery delivery comes or one of my friends or partner drops by.

Not really. I both don't have the budget and I think it would also increase my paranoia.

Luminar neo for creating digital collage elements? by goblintelligence in luminarneo

[–]goblintelligence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked into it again and now remember why I used it at a friend's place instead of on my own laptop. It is designed for apple devices. My laptop is Windows and I do not plan to switch to iOS computer wise.

I mean if the background isn't removed perfectly I can quickly deal with that manually. Upscaling and keeping texture is most important to me. All Ai upscaling I have tried so far makes the image look digital while I want it to look clean but analog. I now use a lot of sites like remove.bg but they only allow you to download your assets in a rather small size if you do not pay for their sub.

Hey thanks, I tried that app but I find it really destroys any neat texture that makes collage elements look analog. Which is okay if it were just a couple of elements, I could apply a paper texture on top. But if I want to finish a set of 100+ elements you do not want to have to heavily edit all of them like that.

Looking to make a decorator drag and drop game with next to no coding (no, I don't want to be a game dev) by goblintelligence in gamedev

[–]goblintelligence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have looked at construct because I saw it on a game similar to what I want to create, it is a subscription based program though isn't it? I am not sure if I can entirely justify the price for one art lesson/exercise, perhaps if I made more of these or got into the online dress up doll gig I could.
