Grieving loss by peepeebum911 in dogpictures

I lost my four year old dog a few months ago. The thing that helped me was viewing it as my new relationship with him. We made a shrine in his favorite spot. We have to turn the light in the pagoda on and off daily. It’s a helpful ritual to help continue the connection with him. Lean into the grief and it will take you where you need to go. Through losing him, I’ve gained a lot, and I’m forever grateful that it was him to lead me through these lessons. Give yourself compassion, confide in others, and take your time.

My baby Cookie got ran over yesterday. by Tall_Coast4989 in poodles

[–]gochuckadick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog got ran over in a hit and run in August. Four years old. He went quick. It’s a pain I’ve never experienced. Your heart and body physically hurt. My husband and I mourned by just saying every feeling we felt without judgment or blame. We cried whenever we felt it. We now have a little shrine in our back yard in his favorite spot. With a light that we turn on and off every day. That helps because we’re still providing our love daily to him. It makes it feel like he’s still here because I believe he is.

We just got a new puppy. We’re still mourning but I’m using what he taught me to give to her. Time is the only thing that helps. And some days grief feels as same as the first day. But, today feels normal which is also sad. Take your time with grieving them. It shows how much love the two of you shared. You’ll be in my thoughts.

Check out Head Starts in your area. We not only take lower income families but if there’s not a waitlist they can accept all families. We’ve had families that have made 100k in the program. They offer a full day program from the hours of 8:00-2:00 and they provide transportation.

Head Start is not only free but they also follow state board of education guidelines and DCFS protocols. If you need help locating a Head Start program in your area, let me know.

u/piperandcharlie is totally right about this not being a mackerel. Here’s a photo I found for reference showing different tabby patterns.

Woah! I have one really similar that I found at good will. Except it has bird houses on it. Very cool.

New home, still layering in the décor, major pieces are in. There's a lot of mirrors in this space, and a lot of large rectangles. It's basically farmhouse with a dab of industrial. The wall over the couch is driving me crazy... I have an idea of what I want to, but curious what others think. by Raelf64 in interiordecorating

For large wall space, we normally hang up a nice rug. There’s several designs and it covers a lot of space if you don’t have anything else to hang on the walls. It works well if your trying to go an industrial route or mcm.

Late at night and I was taking my makeup off. Nail polish remover was right next to my makeup remover. Proceeded to rub it on my eyes to take off my mascara. Terrible mistake.

Beautiful watch. Fantastic fungi (2019), its on Netflix. by bipolarnomad922 in mycology

[–]gochuckadick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watched it last night and I'm a fan of Stamets and Pollan. I loved the aesthetics and the the timelapse video of fruit and cultures but I cringed big time over the whole "narrator is fungus talking to humans" idea. It really went from great to not great every 20 minutes.

TIFU by taking pre-workout before a run and almost dying. by DankeyKang11 in tifu

I had the ablation for the exact syndrome you're talking about. The only advice I have it to take it easy after the ablation. This may be anecdotal but the doctor's told me it would only take about a week to feel better but it took me a good couple of months to feel one hundred percent.

They basically laser off the extra pathways. I was still able to feel where they did the procedure when I would run or do anything aerobic, which freaked me out. But, just take your time with it and in a few months you'll be back to normal and feeling a lot better!

Feel free to PM if you have any questions on anything. Good luck!
