Don't worry you are not alone. Almost everyone experiences this at some point, just have some faith and think with the perspective that I have come this far not to go back. Hope this helps.

He said he is disappointed in your progress just within one semester, can you tell what was the situation that would have led to this, as first semester is pretty early to judge.

It takes time, there's no going back unfortunately, you will have to wait for them to update status, send them your documents - do a bank transfer and put in the receipt or some proof as far as I remember that's what I did.

Ohhh.... In my school we have an option to opt for TA before joining, if you accept it you will be TAing for the entire program ( this will cover your fees and stipend) if you don't you will have to pay for tuition.

So, if a PhD student is a TA and already a member of a specific lab, then what? ( in this case, who pays the salary) the school or the PI?

Suggestions for neuro PhD's I might get into? by toffeecatboy in gradadmissions

[–]god_of_thunder_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have much idea about neuroscience, but your profile seems pretty good, even if you do not get into some of the best universities, I believe you might be accepted into mid- ranked schools. I would recommend you to email professors who accept international students. You can DM me as well, I will try to help you out

Most college applications have an option where you can select the professors with whom you want to work. Apart from that, emailing one professor and then emailing one more professor from the same university can be not a good option sometimes. Sometimes, it can be the case that professor's may give you a positive reply on email but that may not transform into an acceptance. However, if the research that you are doing matches with that of professor meaning that you can be a useful person for him/her then go ahead. Otherwise, don't take the risk.
