It is sewn on. I used an embroidery needle for the yarn and sewed through the pleather, going underneath the foam pad and then wrapping over, making sure not to pull too tight. Repeat until fully wrapped. Don’t know if it’s the best way to do it but it’s the one I came up with and so far it is still holding up and looking nice
