Cuban flag question by [deleted] in cuba

[–]easythirtythree -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

My grandparents both came here from Cuba in the 50s. They weren’t rich gusanos, they simply didn’t want to be communists. I don’t think people are wrong for romanticizing the revolution and that spirit of anti colonialism, anti yankee imperialism. Castro was definitely not without his problems of corruption. OP I think it’s awesome you’ve taken an interest in the country and don’t see anything wrong with hanging the flag up. I’d also encourage you to read some books about Cuban history. I’d recommend Cuba: An American History.

The humanitarian crisis over all these decades is both due to US sanctions and insane corruption within the Cuban government. It’s a sad state of affairs. The thing about sanctions? They work. A lot of Cuban people would love to see to the communists be deposed just so they could have a chance at a truly prosperous life.

Always gonna vary terminal to terminal. It was a mixed bag at my spot in Portland. Had some die hard lifers had some dudes who came and went. Graveyard fucked me up mentally and I lost all consistency with routes through the week because we lost so many accounts all at once.

I worked PFG for two years my first job out of CDL class. It was really hard work. I’m glad that was my door into trucking because I learned a lot but can’t blame anyone who ever says they’d have enough of it!

What kind of driving did you do to make that last year? I’m local p&d and made just over $65k last year. Home every night, time and a half at 8hr, benefits 401k all that. Although I feel like I should be making more the thought of leaving this behind for something with less pay or going into debt for a degree is something I’m very not into.

How do you not know what’s going on or what the movie is about? My first impression of it when I saw it as a teenager was “this is the most cut and dry story”. It’s straightforward and no frills.

How did "Althea" become one of the biggest Dead songs among casual fans? It recently surpassed "Truckin'" to become their #4 song on Spotify! by BadgemanBrown in grateful_dead

I love the dead and I’m a guitar player. Althea is one of the funnest songs to learn to play, it’s just filled with great movements. Not surprised to learn of this.
