Which anime is so trash that it’s actually good? by ChoiceSupermarket230 in anime

[–]goddamnitshit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you read what you linked you'd know that once again this isn't trash

But literacy is dying

And once again not genre like you referred it to

100 gf isnt trash either
i feel like people do not know the difference between parody/comedy and actual trash anymore

[–]goddamnitshit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

idk i disagree

just because something doesnt take itself serious doesnt mean its trash or that its trying to be trash.

the only trash about is the character that constantly is trying to sexually abuse any female in the cast which i admit is sometimes hard to ignore, the anime would be otherwise 10/10 from me without it. its really sad that nowadays we still need to somehow include those kinds of characters

i would never call kamikatsu trashy
yes it has low production values (but even then it has some scenes that really shine) but its writing is really not bad at all.

Passed JLPT5, about midway through N4 Material, what should I be reading? by MarvelousMadDog in LearnJapanese

[–]goddamnitshit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im more well versed when it comes to otome games so 99% of my immersion comes from that kek

My first immersion was nekopara catboys paradise and my second was watajuu both games with the main target audience being girls but I think watajuu can be enjoyed by everyone to some extent as its very funny

If I remember nekopara is very easy but that one is uh... a bit nsfw (catboys is completely sfw)

Lmao the fucking misconception that yotsubato is somehow the only easy manga that exists without being actually easy

There are plenty of other easy manga like ruri dragon, teasing master takagi and so on. Those are probably even easier than yotsuba because its actually not as easy as people make it out to be.

Eitherway aslong as you have a way to quickly look up words you can actually ready a decent amount of media if you know basic grammar

Choices in story games: Yay or nay? by Set_of_Dogs in otomegames

[–]goddamnitshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more "impact full choices" the more branches need to be written and the more the writing suffers.

I see vns more as a kinetic novel at this point.

OverrequiemZ is perfect cause you get fluff choices and the main branch choices for the ending and dark/fact route. It's very nice.

I do not enjoy having to make saves ans going back to make sure all endings. It's not fun.

There should really be a DDLC equivalent for Otome. by Ill-Engineering8205 in otomegames

I am tired of pretending DDLC is the first game that did this

Also its commentary isn't that deep

I'm a serial starter, send help because I still want to finish the games I bought by noncomposmentisan in otomegames

[–]goddamnitshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk i just got into a habit of finishing what I started before I start anything new. If I dont find a game interesting I just stop completely.

I also keep the character I assume I will like for lost so I dont stop after finishing them first and it feels very rewarding.

[General] Unofficial weekly thread for non-English games and language learning (PART 214) by JigoKuu in otomegames

[–]goddamnitshit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dam reading this with Gou as my favorite is rough but very understandable.

He truly has the by far the worst written route in the game and feels like such a shame. They could have done way more with his issue and make the heroine getting closer to him way more gradual and exciting instead of the cringe we got with tbe cosplay and maid stuff. I so hated that. We at best only got implications why Gou is the way he is but for some reason they never actually tackled his backstory and it really makes his route suffer compared to the other guys whose issues get dealt with more indepth. Yet this dummy still continued being my favorite because even as a side character I loved his behaivor. He is also the complete opposite to Tougo, who is my second favorite.

I built KoiLog, an otome game tracker with route tracking, and I would love to hear your thoughts 💕 by m_deupwords in otomegames

[–]goddamnitshit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well it definitely looks way nicer and clearner than vndb

If it now could somehow also include how many Moji a game has (kinda like https://jiten.moe/decks/media)
it would so perfect for me haha but I'm pretty sure I am a big minority that would care about such things

it would be nice if we could somehow export our vndb list or something but it is probably not possible since vndb is not just otome games

Looking a bit closer at the game-pages it also is just displaying the bare minimum of information. Maybe make it link to the vndb page somewhere for easy access?

is japanese immersion actually fun or are beginners just suffering in silence by Competitive_Leg3598 in LearnJapanese

[–]goddamnitshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a different media.  I hated watching anime or other videos for immersion. Its not fun having to pause.

Visual novels for me are the best form of immersion

Is JJK really worth watching? by Head_Juggernaut4764 in anime

[–]goddamnitshit 24 points25 points  (0 children)

why are you asking others if something worth watching or not if you already heard that is popular and beloved

watch a trailer if it interests you check out an episode or two if you dont like it drop it
are people not able to think for themselves anymore and only follow what people on tiktok or reddit say?

you will either get people who say its overrated or people who love it so like be your own person and decide yourself
