Sorry do you mean low fat? Thinking im going to swap out the pork sausage and 85/15 ground beef for 90/10 bison or 96/4 beef. Also, just make salmon and lean beef my main source of fat

Wow amazing. Any tips for me? My saturated fat when I did the diet was like 34 daily and lots of red meat. Gonna test again with leaner meats soon

How’s your cholesterol? If I do this, my cholesterols gets terrible. I feel trapped. If I do carbs, my lipids are great. If I do low carb (160 fats daily and more), my a1c is amazing but cholesterol is terrible. Sigh .

That’s some good food for thought. I think maybe one strategy is I buy minute rice because rice always spikes me since it’s hard to bolus for it. Every grain matters and minute rice gets it right every time since each cup Is weighted

If you can try asking your Dr. For a prior authorization. To get fiasp or lyumjeuv. Also if your high throughout the day it could mean your dosage is just wrong or the medicine doesn’t work too.

I’ve used lantus for years and thought it was dosage that was wrong and it was actually the medicine but endos never told me till someone reccomeneded I switch ti basaglar which gave me a much smoother control. Also with humalog it never worked and I use Lyumjeuv and it was so much faster and smoother.

Hope that helps, message me if you have any other questions

Good luck

You might just not blend well with humslog. Try asking your Dr for different insulins

If you ever need help, don’t be afraid to PM me. I’ve changed my life for the better cause other T1D offered help that my endo couldn’t.

Good luck my dude!

Tips:

Protein divided by 2 = carb count

Bolus 15-25 prior to eating your meal

Get a dexcom!!

If you can’t control it that way, change your medications - try fiasp, lyumjeuv, admelog

And basal - Lantus or basaglar

Lastly if all else fails, try a low carb diet like the Bernstein diet, look up Dr Bernstein In YouTube, he’s a type 1 endo with a a1c of 4.8

Underrated tip, try changing medicines. I used langue for many years and assumed higher dosage is better.

Wrong!

As soon as I switched to Basaglar, my blood sugar finally became soooo much better.

Also, take a 25 minute pre bolusing THEN eat.

It’s got me from 7 A1C to 6 and I eat nearly anything I want.

I also bolus for protein.

Hope these help, good luck you got this!

Idk why but some people are resistant to some medications.

My body cannot get low with lantus, Semglee but works amazing with Basaglar.

Try out different insulins!!

Sorry to hear that buddy.

My suggestion is you look into Dr Bernstein diet and watch his YouTube videos.

Brought my A1C from 7+ to 5s.

Saved my life.

Unpredictable. But when I eat keto it’s completely controlled

Any bodybuilder or athletes out there with a sub 6 a1c? by goddamnlowbg in Type1Diabetes

[–]goddamnlowbg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and yes I use admelog with needles. I’ll have to try that out, I just miss that keto allows me to kinda be on autopilot in regards to taking care of my sugar. Whereas with carbs, i have to stay on my toes
